When people use programming terms, I don't understand shit.Method this, spermasoid algorithm that. How the hell do you even manage to learn all that? You have to be autistic right' Like INTP levels of autism. Jesus, it is so over.
i know absolutely nothing about programming but I know you're a bitch
>>107800659Each programming subgroup has their own unique lingo and can use the same words to mean different things, e.g. polymorphism can refer to either generics or subtyping, you just have to hang around and read stuff to pick up on it
>>107800659i did not understand it either when i started because it sounds like alien bullshit. just learn how functions work and you'll start to get it. to start, figure out what a variable is and work your way forward.
Yeah, you kinda do need to have some level of autism. I heard some researchers once came up with a test that was incredibly predictive of whether a student would flunk out of comp sci 101, the test was targeting the capability to pick up on and follow arbitrary rules. It is fairly autistic to be able to do that.
>>107800659Sorry, but if you can't even understand what a function is, yngmi.
>>107801786I know what a function is, but I don't understand anons who say shit like "enums"; "monads", " methods", "immutability", etc.Like what the fuck is all that shit. My brain is gonna go into overdrive trying to understand it.
>>107800659>How the hell do you even manage to learn all that? You have to be autistic right' Like INTP levels of autism.yeah, used to be learning coding was a social effort, CS nerds would gather in the puter lab late at night and teach each other. Working on small demo projects was also a good way, nowadays I would think learning git is job1 then finding some small demo code projects on git and learning from them, learning the mechanics of git projects and compiling debugging, reading code, asking AI questions on coding, but I dont really know if there is any point anymore to getting into it
if you work in carpentry you learn the names of joints and types of saws and different nails, etc.if you work in welding you learn about the heat affected zone and porosity and gas mixtures.
>>107800659Yeah, every field has jargon, moron. Were you born yesterday?
>>107800828in my field polymorphism is a program that changes its own source during runtime
>>107801950>sourcement binary/elf, NOT source code
>>107800659It's about walking the walk and talking the talk. Recognizing the lingo is more of a sign that you've sacrificed enough time doing stuff in the field more than anything.Simply, do more shit.
>>107801854>enumA list of things, usually a list of integer+text combinations like 1=nigger, 2=kike, 3=spic>monadsNeither do I, it's academic circlejerk. You don't need it>methodsSynonym of function>immutabilitySomething you can't change, like a string in some programming languages - if you try to change it, it doesn't actually modify the string under the hood but creates a brand new one in a different place in memory
>>107801543Does this test have a name and do you remember that name?
>>107800659I understand about half of it but the other half has me replaying parts just to see if I missed an explanation. When I was first starting out some tutorials would begin with hello world shit and end up talking about system database terms they won't bother explaining 2 minutes later.
>>107800659Sorry OP I'm really busy cn we circle back on this one over coffee on tuesday? Shoot me a team message on it, thanks!
