Hello /g/So in my last thread >>107793618 I showed you my dirty keyboard, I was going to show the final result but the thread got archived too soon.So this is how the keyboard looks now.
>>107808241Okay, yes I have this keyboard as well. The difference is mine has the the Windows 11 logo
>>107808241Nice one, Anon.
>>107808241I've got the same keyboard. I think I've been using it for 15 years or so. How did you clean it? I should do the same with mine.
>>107808241Good on you on cleaning it up and not just tossing it.I can start to see shit below the keys of my mechanical keyboard so I'll be doing something similar at some point.
>>107808241now clean your smegma lol gotem
>>107809629I removed the keys and cover, cleaned them with warm water, scrubbed them with a toothbrush, and left them to dry all day.Make sure that the water does not touch any internal components of the keyboard; the water should only touch the plastic.
>>107808241Nice, you’re the type of person who should be using a proper custom keyboard.>>107812048>Make sure that the water does not touch any internal components of the keyboard; the water should only touch the plastic. You can even submerge the keyboard in water but you just have to make sure it’s 100% dry before plugging it back in
>>107808241baste, have a you
>>107808241i have exact same keyboard. bought it a few weeks ago. accidentally spilled an entire cup of coffee over it while trying to kill an annoying fly. anyway.. besides sticky keys, entire thing shit itself then refused to work. had to take it apart. fluid managed to get in between the plastic membrane layers. thankfully all that's inside is 3 sheets of plastic, two with carbon traces on them. carefully cleaned them (and keys) and now works good as new. clever design. almost indestructible.
logitech k120 is the greatest keyboard ever created. Mechanical keyboards are so overrated it's actually insane
>>107812790you can customize a layout with mechanical swtiches, you can't as easily with rubber domesotherwise i'd prefer rubber domes to be honest
>>107808241Good job, anon. You actually cleaned it instead of ditching it like some anons suggested.
>>107808241See you again in 5 years, Anon.
>>107808241>based recyclerGood job though that shit still look oily
>>107812809this logitech keyboard doesn't have rubber domes. the key presses against a plastic sheet with carbon traces. they touch together and you get your key press. way simpler and cheaper to make. where the leds are for caps/scroll lock etc. is on the main pcb that's the size of a cigarette lighter and thin as a piece of gum. it's shockingly simple.
>>107813032>I'm going to tell you how this keyboard works by started off with something that is factually incorrectI konw better than you how any keyboard works, retard
>>107808241Good job and thanks for the follow-up. It's nice to see something positive here for a change. Have a great weekend.
>>107812790I switched to a Loffee Flow Lite84 because my mom got it for free. It's louder (but you can put silent switches, which are way more expensive than they should be), but the small form factor is awesome and the feeling is good. Also, you don't have to hit each keys as hard as with the K120, which greatly reduce the strain on the articulations. After years of hitting a hard keyboard, you may end up with bad fingers. The lack of a Fn key on the k120 always bothered me (but then I realized I can remap the capslock key).
