I hear so many horror stories from people trying to make their own imageboards that it is making me reconsider.

It has to do with the doubled edged sword known as the nigger word. On the one hand protecting the right to say the nigger word protects anonymity. On the otherhand the freedom to say the nigger word comes at the cost of your website becoming radioactive to advertisers.

i remember the pasta/thread where some webmaster-anon opened a public chan for a few friends, but every file upload had to be manually approved, and all was fine until someone posted the link on /b/ and anons started trolling him, and webmaster-anon screenshotted a bunch of trash they tried to upload but then at some point borderline cp started to pile up, anon-webmaster got suspicious and checked the 'whois' on the dozen ip addresses trying to fill his site with cp, and they were all glowie areas like Langley, Virginia.

if you create something against the establishment then the establishment will inevitably try to take you down, literal government buildings will spam cp on it until will close it down.

Who could have known

Biggest problem you'll have is that, being late to the game, you will firstly attract people who have been banned from other more popular sites. Some of them banned unfairly, the majority not. These people will make your website unbearable for the normal tolerable people you want using your website.

Assuming it isn't a pro-israel site with jews running your moderation team, then jews and spiteful mutants will flood it with illegal content until you're sued into oblivion.

You're not going to be able to do it unless you're independently wealthy and have a team of lawyers. And even then it might not work.

I don't understand the pic, everyone in Italy and Iberia does look like that. Also Bulgaria and Romania.

No one is gonna visit your IB. Don’t even try
>>

>and they were all glowie areas like Langley, Virginia
It's a big routing hub.
My weather location glitches out sometimes on my brower and says Langley, VA.
I think there is close to 0% chance that glowie care about me.
There are just a handful of major routing points for internet traffic afaik.
>>
>>107809268
You'd get spammed with CP, if not by pedos by the government (also pedos).
>>
>>107809968
>glowies are innocent they just control all of the internet routing
>>
>>107809845
literally this. Only if it was genuine 2004 website material would it work.

I've been working on this problem and talking to people working on this problem for a decade now.

Here is what I've learned: If your primary innovation is anything other than a novel way to defeat spam and prevent abuse, your imageboard project will fail.

Now go waste your time ignoring my advice and learn the hard way.

Can you share one?

One guy basically got targeted by a Russian who wrote a bot to spam his IB with CSAM 24/7 from different proxies. Another guy got into some serious legal trouble due to not responding to CSAM quick enough
>>
Most of these stories are made up or exaggerated to make feds seem more powerful than they are and to keep people here, where real convos are derailed easily by indians posting ragebait. If you want a way out of this niggerhell, go to allchans and look for webring imageboards, you'll find deeper links there. The truth is much more mundane, smaller imageboards generally have older users that don't want newfags from post 2016 4chan and most of you won't leave because you're post rate addicts and don't care if the you comes from an indian.

Not saying the US is innocent.
They invented the internet.
Targeting masses of people/the whole population more or less is also quite different than being targeted as an individual.
There's no shot a single person gives a shit about me and my shitposting and browsing.

>>107809268
I mean, if your dream is to make yet another altchan that gets 10 posts a week then go for it.

>glowie areas like Langley, Virginia.
Glowies are always using VPN/proxies in Russia or China, so they can blame The Russian Hackers™ or The Fucking Chinese™ in the news/court.

Anonimity never existed on the internet to begin with. Anonimity is against the internet architecture.

Wrong. You can have anonymity of user (here), anonymity of IP (tor, VPN), and now even anonymity of payment (monero). Technologies like PrivacyPass improve the situation even further. The internet allows for levels of anonymity never before possible since the anonymity set is worldwide.
>>
>>107814855
You can't possibly be that naive.
>>
>>107814925
I've spent a lot of effort making myself more anonymous. Anonymous is a lifestyle.
>>
>>107809268

What is the website going to do that doesn’t exist already? If its something like a blog that might be cool. If it’s a Autism Anonymous Thinkpad Circlejerk, that might make less sense.

Idiot. CIA are massive in the drug trade because it's how they get their money in off-the-books ways.
>>
>>107814925
You can become "practically" anonymous. Meaning, you can obfuscate your identity to the point where practically speaking, you are invisible. Yes, glowies likely have a file on you either way unless you are paranoid and are mindful of every single step you take, but even then, someone you trust, like even your family members have likely compromised you in ways you don't even realize. However, if you're just an otherwise nonthreatening individual, there is no reason for glowies to spend their resources to go after you, until you make yourself a high value target.

You've been funding them you moron. Why would they arrest you?

https://www.corpwatch.org/article/six-telecom-companies-face-formal-complaint-collusion-uk-spy-agency

And this was 2013. It's going to be even worse now.

Sorry, anon, you just have to make peace with the fact that there is no true anonymity online. All hardware is backdoored, and all large technology companies and telecoms companies work hand in glove with the secret services.

Look up WINDSTOP. Look up MUSCULAR.

Spoiler: if Google gives you page after page of legitimate results on it, it's open.

You wont look into any of this because you're so fucking smart. The fucking NSA were totally outsmarted by you clicking on the first result on fucking glowgle.
>>
>>107818396
>uses mpv
Should have said you're completely tech illiterate that would have spared me the time of ever replying to you in the first place.
>>
>>107818409
So answer yes or no to these questions:
Does Google work hand in glove with NSA/GCHQ?
Does Google give you front page results for everything you want to know about tor?
Do you think you outsmarted the secret services who have total unencrypted access to all data passing through the networks on hardware that is backdoored?
>>
>>107809268
Limit it to just non-vpn, non-tor, non-known proxies American IPs.
