I've been using Win11 Enterprice LTSC IoT for over a year.
Debloated it once on install, took ten mins.
No complaints yet.
>inb4 saar
How many times have you distro-hopped in that time?

It just works.
Here's another head-scratcher for you: why is it okay to have to tinker with your distro every other day, but it's not okay to fix Windows on install and never think about it again?
Why does Windows need to be perfect on install, but it's fine to spend years "customizing" (AKA getting it to a workable state) for linux?
>>
If you're going to use LTSC, why not use the Windows 10 one?
>>
>>107811327
>tinker with your distro daily
I don't. I set it up once and then use it.
>it's not okay to fix Windows on install
According to whom?
>>
>>107811330
I remember I was coming off trying linux yet again and getting fed up with it again, and this time I was curious about 11.
If it felt bad I'd have gone back to 10, nothing to lose.
Haven't had a reason to switch back to 10 yet.

>According to whom?
why do you people always play dumb
>>
Niggas love to hate Windows 11. But it's a good OS.
>>
>>107811327
The only people who constantly "tinker" on linux are people who are autistic about customizing every detail aka "ricing", most people just stick with default settings out of the box and it works fine for them
>>
>>107811361
No it's also people who need to do things beyond browsing the internet.
I know this for a fact, I was tinkering constantly just to get shit to work
>>
>>107811260
There's no reasoning with freetards. They're balls deep in sunk cost fallacy to ever admit how shitty Linux is. It's like trying to convince a troon that they're not a real woman after he's already cut off his dick.
>>
>>107811495
sounds like cope
i didnt format my pc in 3 years
with wintrash you have to, every 6 months

This gets me every time. It's so retarded it's funny.

>3rd party app? OK on Linux! Not OK on Windows!
>Tweak and configure your OS? Nope, no can do on Windows. Totally fine on Linux tho!
>>
>>107811551
>maximum optimizations and enhancements having been figured out over time
Lmao you faggots can't even agree on display protocols and desktop environments, you have nothing final, it's always a constant beta test and github hunt for some obscure fix to a weird new issue

I distro hopped thrice, all in the same week and settled on Arch OP.
All my servers are also now running Arch.
You cling to the corporate cuck machine, but it will one day vanish. Sooner you rip the band-aid off the better.

>problem pops up on linux
>it's ok I'll use my entire afternoon to fix it :)

That was sarcasm, anon.
>>
>>107811615
Call me when the wound's healed, sxster. Till then I'm keeping the bandaid on.
And by that I mean when the troonix creatures settle their disagreements and make something actually useable (or valve does it)
>>
>>107811260
>Install cachyos
it just works
>Install Enterprise LTSC IoT
spend 3 hours trying to fix not being able to connect to an smb share.
You also can't move the task bar from the bottom of the screen.
You're also using windows.
Directory Opus and Foobar2000 are the only things windows has going for it.

it genuinely doesnt happen
you install linux
and it just werks
yeah, sure things like wine take some tinkering
but otherwise it just werks

>>107811643
for what, shitposting on 4chan?
I remember it being a huge pain in the ass getting substance painter to work. On Windows it just works
>>
>>107811649
no, programming, excel sheets, gayming
pretty much everything you would want to use a computer for
>>
>>107811659
ah so i'm just not allowed to be a 3D artist, alright
>>
>>107811649
Literally all Linux users do is shit post on forums from their Thinkpads. Everything they do is just in a web browser so they don't give a shit about software/hardware compatibility.
>>
>>107811621
Never a single good argument from you faggots. Just idpol slop brain.
>>
>>107811662
nope.
verboten

on a more serious note- yeah, ok, admittedly specific software that isnt supported on linux, well, isnt supported on linux. that can happen.
if youre not bound to a specific program, and youre not too retarded to deal with a cli, linux is the golden standard today

i started daily driving linux 5 years ago because wintrash 10 literally self destructed with one of its impromptu updates
>>
>>107811676
why the fuck would you install a windows version that updates
>>
>>107811659
Besides programming (which can be done in any text editor) none of those things work natively. Just because you can get it running with a bunch of janky work arounds and bash shell scripts doesn't mean it's good lol.

Heaven forbid you want to use any peripherals like an XLR mic.

Dude would rather spend hours learning cli to do the same things that "just werk" on Windows than turn off automatic updates lol
>>
>>107811260
>choose a good, reliable non-meme distro and stick to it
>never "need" to hop
distro hoppers are just retards that dont want to learn anything so when they bump into a small issue they wipe their entire system hoping the next thing they install will somehow have everything configured exactly as they want it, when it would've took about 1 minute with either google or ai to figure out the cause or find the setting they need
in year 2026 the major distros just werk flawlessly
>>
>>107811662
y are wintoddlers so melodramatic?
its not linux's fault that adobe's shit isnt supported, and doesnt mean that it's a joke of an os for the general public just because your specific workflow would require some switches
MOST windows software works fine on linux thanks to wine. most office software also has either native alternatives or (as with ms office) can be run in browser
3d artists absolutely can use linux. most of the commonly used 3d software is natively supported
>>
>>107811705
>janky work arounds and bash shell scripts
steam deck. steam games just werk. and i've never needed to tinker to get any non-steam games working either
you are just a troll
>>
>>107811885
>for the general public
ah yes this argument again
>>
>>107811885
But anon terminal is scarry! Learn new thing? How do!?
>>
>>107811955
windows has a terminal
>>
>>107811727
I used registry and what not scripts to disable windows 10 updates? It still updated after 3 month(why exactly after 3 months) and magic and happened and Blue screen happened, been using linux since then
>...but muhhh distro
You choose debian or whatever you want and use nix to manage packages, it just works
>But muhhh display server
You are free to use either x11 or wayland, I don't cops out my house if I use xorg
>...but gnome wahhh
I use wm, not my problem
>.... muh games
Proton if not just use a virtual machine
I would be happy if the virtual machine blue screens rather than the base machine

I've been using LTSC IoT 2019, debloated with fr33thy's pack for about 6 years now.
Has been really good.
I'm buying new hardware soon so I guess W11 LTSC IoT might be the go.
