Be honest. Who is going to miss them?
They turned GeForce into JeetForce
>>107819354I've never used anything else.
>>107819354I hope they leave the consumer space and never return, and take their AI upscaling slop with them. The damage they have done to 3d graphics is immeasurable.
>>107819520half the graphics techniques used in game engines of the last two decades were invented by them.>inb4 you don't NEED variance shadow mapping, all games should just be toon shaded
>>107819644For the most part modern graphics techniques just result in worse fidelity. I suppose they may have contributed some valuable features in the early days. But most graphics advancements in more recent times have just made games look worse. Once deferred rendering became a thing was the point at which graphics started to go into freefall.
>>107819678well the GPU rendering algorithms they invented won't leave with them if they exit the market. Except geralt's hair.
>>107819354haven't used them in over a decade, don't care about them. never did. i use fedora and game in 1440p with zero issues for half the price.
>>107819354nvidia have torched every last shred of good will they have accumulated, and they did so in a remarkably short time.Fuck them.
>>107819354me
>>107819757they don't care. they never did. money was they cared about and now that the money is in AI, (you) don't matter anymore.all companies are like that
>>107819779>the money is in AIUntil it all collapses.
>>107819354I would like AMD to improve their path tracing performance first.
>>107819644monopolized by themThey invented nothing
>>107819895hopefully, but I will say I do like AI as a tool of sorts. It's nice being able to copy a recipe to my Obsidian "Recipes" vault by just linking the video in gemini and telling it to print out the recipe. Shit like that, I think is a pretty useful of AI, but of course as with anything, it gets blown up bigger than it needs to be.
>>107819354Me because I don't mind spending money on high end GPU. AMD and Intel have nothing for me.
>>107819354I wonder what jensen's gameplan is going to be once the bubble pops
>>107820005retire as a billionaire and ride off into the sunset worth than your entire bloodline was, is, or will ever be,
>>107819354Not me, they made GPUs boring as fuck
I feel like once the AI bubble pops they're gonna come crawling back. Prices will go back down to what they were for the RTX 3000 series and everybody will clap.
>>107820044nVidia users are sheep brained NPCs. they'll continue to pay the higher prices because they lack any knowledge of tech. nvidia will never lower the prices back down.nvidia sheep are no different than tendies who will gladly line up and pay $120 for a mario remake because "nintendo" or the Apple sheep who line up around the block to the get the same exact phone with just a bigger camera for $1000+ because "apple."
>>107820064>they'll continue to pay the higher prices because they lack any knowledge of tech.AMD still has nothing better than a 4080. If they had something on par with a 5090, even for more money, I'd switch instantly. But Radeon is run by jeets and it will never happen.
>>107819779*all public companies
>>107820075I run my system with a 7800Xt and game at 1440p >100 FPS for most games with zero issues or problems. I paid less than half of what an overpriced nshitia card would have cost.
>>107819931NVIDIA researchers wrote some of the foundational texts of computer graphics.https://developer.nvidia.com/gpugems/gpugems3/part-ii-light-and-shadows
me but only for the geforce brandi remember getting an ati card that gave me like 8 fps on left 4 dead on 720p but the minute i switched over to a geforce 8400gt, i jumped up to around 35-45 fps 1080p on left 4 deadprobably the best i felt at the time seeing that massive leap
>>107820088>I run my system with a 7800Xt and game at 1440p >100 FPS for most gamesYeah I don't esports faggot shit and gacha games. I play actual games, so the 7800XT was trash even back when it was new.
>>107820109nta, but you're a fucking moron.
>>1078200943dfx tech next?
>>107820174what are you saying, that they secretly invented all the algorithms developed by NVIDIA in subsequent decades after they went defunct in 2002?
>>107819369JeetForce >>> Rajeon
>>107820194lol no
I am pretty sure this board is full of poor browns who think >the more expensive something is the better it must beand>if i own expensive things (even if it costs me a years worth of food) i will be seen as rich!there is no other way /g/ would shill nvidia and apple products like it does.
>>107820331I fell for the AMD meme and suffered for 2.5 years with no AI models working on my machine until I replaced it with a 3090. Now I have 2x3090 with an nvlink bridge and I'm happy. I don't gayme so I don't know anything about that usecase.
>>107820126Nice argument, valorant player (faggot)
>>107819354I won't. I'll take going backwards 10 years graphics and performance wise if it meant freedom from a greedy monopolist.
>>107820109>actual gamesSo nothing that would actually require a powerful card? Because actual games are old games 99% of the time.
