SOME users lost their files on Windows 11 due to OneDrive messing around with the fileshttps://muropaketti.com/tietotekniikka/tietotekniikkauutiset/taasko-syy-vaihtaa-linuxiin-kayttaja-voi-hukata-tiedostoja-onedriven-takia/Edge Browser had lost opened tabs after one hour or so, it closed them for no reason, when there was like 12 tabs open. But that one is a MINOR nuisance and what we have to tell you now is much worse. Some users of Windows 11 have during the time period of 1 to 6 January lost their files on OneDrive which was forced upon them on the first place. They had a Microsoft account which automatically starts to use OneDrive and has a tendency to save Office 365 files and similar Microsoft software produced files to OneDrive only. What they tried to do was to save files on their SSD drive in a folder like c:\files\xls for example. Microsoft did not like it one bit and made a OneDrive copy of all those files which was put into a datacenter. Users had switched back and forth (I want to disable OneDrive / I want to enable OneDrive) and eventually Windows was so confused it deleted BOTH copies of their work files (Word and Excel and Powerpoint) the file on their SSD drive and also the file on their OneDrive which stays in Microsoft Cloud.Microsoft said they are looking into it, maybe files can be returned. It concerns some thousand users.
