Are they fixing live TV?

Yeah I'm not holding out hope
>>107827727
No
>>

the review has to be finished first

Another PR is being done right now too
https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/pull/15803
>>
>>107827616
not jellyfin specifically but was wondering if any other anons had issues with Sonarr basically getting stuck and dying every now and then when it runs a full disk check
I have it set to auto restart daily as a result now but I still catch it getting stuck every now and then despite that
>>
>>107828103
go start a /sonarr/ thread
>>
why do subtitles take 3 minutes to load?
>>
>>107829091
they load fine for me
>>
>>107829135
they do for mac app but not on browser

Wish they'd add HDR support to the desktop client.
>>

>Wish they'd add HDR support to the desktop client.
that's up to mpv, which doesn't support it
>>
>>107827616
Oh fuck, now I'm gonna have to update.
God fucking damn.
>>
how come Jellyfin in Kodi is so fucking slow to browse a folder? I counted it, its legit 30 seconds to display my download directory which has maybe 100 subfolders in it. I tested the same with Emby and it takes like 2 seconds.
>>
>>107829610
yes it does retard
>>
>>107830054
no, it doesn't
>>
>>107829970
I really hate jellyfin on kodi in general. I wish I could just run jellyfinOS or something but the performance isn't there on a raspi.
>>
the ui compared to the shitty plex one is so refreshing
>>
>>107827616
Fuck this shit, I'd rather do Miracast or play content via SMB
>>
>>107830519
how does Jellyfin stream its content anyway? I was dismayed when I've read dlna uses SMB protocol
>>
>>107830564
same as plex and netflix
http(s)

>how does Jellyfin stream its content anyway?
I don't have much idea on that. I already had CS Xplorer (or whatever that file manager is called) installed in my Fire Stick. Connecting via SMB through it is pretty easy. I even had Kodi installed and could connect via SMB through it too but Kodi player isnt really that great so felt it was pointless.

I just need a good media player with control customization options I like which is pretty much MX Player on my TV. Uortunately MX Player does not support EAC3 auio codec and lot of the pirated content does seem to be having that codec. I could only play it on TV with VLC which would have been great if it had more options to manage subtitles. However recently discovered Fire Stick does have Miracast feature and I am pretty much set to play it on my laptop which has all the customization I need

I just don't understand how they code something so poorly and have it remain in such a state for years with no improvements in sight. I'd be fucking embarrassed releasing such code to the world.
>>
>>107831144
It's a fork of emby and most of shittyness (like writing SQL strings by hand) comes from it and jellyfin's hesitation to break the compatibility to fix it. Which I guess was warranted looking at how much of a shit show this release is but oh well. Should've done that sooner if anything.
>>
>>107829091
i remember a few years ago jellyfin was slow/buggy with embedded subtitles. extract them if you can, never had any issue with external subs
>>
>>107827616
>Is shit for music
>The only real alternative (Navidrome) supports one outdated protocol and no plugins

Guess I'll buy Roon because there is no good OSS for the usecase
>>
still haven't upgraded from 10.10.x

jellyfin app for androidtv is now telling me that I have to update or it will stop working??? wtf bros
>>
>>107827616
So is this thread just for jellyfin or a more holistic approach to HTPC type stuff?
>>
>>107834082
How the fuck did you post without the ability to read?
>>
>>107831424
>i remember a few years ago jellyfin was slow/buggy with embedded subtitles.
Never had an issue with embedded subs. Working fine here.

The next major version will only support 10.11, at least for now. It might change.

>>107834082
What do you think, stupid fuck? Just Jellyfin.
>>
anons, what is the best way to setup jellyfin on the tv?
I've settled on Google TV, Apple TV seems better but it's 200$ instead of 100$ here. Planning to put a launcher and hopefully my parents won't have to plug the laptop. Is this good?

>>107835100
>what is the best way to setup jellyfin on the tv?
just use the best google tv box you can afford and that's it. look what your country offers and get what other people in your country think is good.
