start using directory opus
>>107828055File Explorer just works.
>>107828055I used to use it on the Amiga
>>107828055I use files.community
>>107828079if you're a normie
>>107828055But I am on Linux
start using? Directory Opus has been my goto file manager for at least 15 years, the developer is a very responsive guy so if I ever have a problem I know I can just make a post and it'll be sorted out. It's the only program I pay for.
>>107828055>startBeen using it since the late 90's.
>>107828055>89 Ausfailian dollars for one computer, 25 every year afterward to continue receiving updatesbuy an ad
>>107830274should grab the latest betas, it has jpeg-xl support now.
No. I use xyplorer
>>107828456No static binary therefore garbage
>>107828055still use it on my amiga>>107828124everyone still uses it on the amiga. it's irreplaceable and still awesome in 2026.I think the programmer of it once said that if he had a dollar for every copy out there he'd be rich but for some reason he did this deal with a uk amiga magazine and dopus was given away for free. for a program that nearly everyone used, very few people actually bought it.>>107830475>$89>+$25 per year for updatescringe. in australia you could argue that a program requiring an update is defective and you can get your money back lol.>paying>for updateslmao such a scam
>>107831378Can't you install and uninstall with package manager?
>>107828079Explorer is STILL a joke when it comes to anything network related.
>>107828055do they offer a non-ugly version?
>>107828079works but not too fast because of react bloat
>>107828055>rapes your hard drive and turns it into a floppy drive when you view a folder with images
>>107832032It's custom themeable
>>107833266>generates thumbnails instantly (literally) when scrolling a folder with 5000 pictures for the first time>no hickups or slowdowns unlike explorer
>>107828055already been using it for a couple years now (pirated copy), modified it to look more like the windows file explorer which im used to, but the speed, built in everything, tabs, expandable folders, preview sidepane, shortcuts, etc make it so nice to use. you can still update it and then just rerun the patcher after the update and it'll let you use it with no issues
>>107828055For me, it's XYplorer. Specifically the free version that was discontinued in 2017 but you can still find it in their site.
>SFTP costs extrajust fuck my wallet up.
>>107828055>have to pay to use it
>>107828055A shame Linux can't have this kind of software.
>>107833276Well I can spray gold paint on a turd and it'll still look like a turd. So if it was possible to make it look non ugly, why aren't there any non ugly screenshots?
>>107838701because its all user preference retard, there are dozens of theme examples to start building around on their forums https://resource.dopus.com/c/themes/24I like the Neko one, picrel but I still use my own (im not posting screenshots)
>>107838762Cool
i think its unpopular because they're so shit at marketing itif you have never used it and you see some screenshots you just think "so what? 50 bucks for this?"this shit has a manual thats like 1000 pages and a billion scripts on the forum its the most autistic thing everthen you try to go back to explore and you realize how awful it is and you cannot live without opus
>>107839455It's one of those niche products that markets itself. Those who need / like it will have it already.
>>107836116just pirate it
>>107840210This. I bought it once like 15 years ago but find their licensing retarded.
>>107828055You couldn't pay me to waste my time with this trash. Buy an ad.
>>107828055give it to me straight bros, what's better, directory opus or total commander?
only thing it does not have is the three pane file manager that you can get on Mac and Linux
