>>107830559yeah, but an fx991ms thread wouldn't be very exciting, would it?
>>107830668how is an android app in a calculator thread exciting?
>>107830654i agree. so there is no valid reason to own a TI calc.
>>107830708something useful in between all the ewaste adds some spice.

>>107830531Apps are fine but I prefer the tactile feedback from physical buttons.
I had one of those sideways calculators once. For some reason, low battery i think, it became schizophrenic and began giving me wrong answers to even three digit multiplications. I had to get rid of it after it fucked me over in two exams. It was tiny and comfy and had a lid.
>>107831807You and your zoomzoom android apps can fuck right off. I want and need real buttons. I can't stand touch screens. Now, would you kindly go shit up one of the numerous bait threads in the catalog right now, and leave the one thread about actual technology alone?
>>107831978>proprietard scams forced on people are good because it's made with pbt plasticYou need fdroid to get qalculate on android, there's at least on app, Qalculator, that uses libqalculate++ on the play store.Only a jew would want you to buy a physical device dedicated to running a repl for math. All calculators should be gpl2 software compatible with the unix philosophy.

>>107832157I don't care about muh freedom, I want a device that I can use when it's -20'c outside and I'm wearing work gloves.
>>107832219I know firsthand that a numpad or keyboard is a lot easier to use than a calculator when doing field calculations in the cold with big ass gloves on.
>>107832219Though, at some point, it's going to get too cold for the computer to work, but the calculator will continue to function.
89 titanium is the goat
Lmao, bunch of fucking idiots ITT who can't think about numbers in an abstract kind of way.
>>107832157I'm all for non proprietary software but there is no planet where a smartphone (Android no less) isn't infinitely worse than any dedicated calculator, which are at least free of microphones and mossad bombs. Smartphones are the definition of privacy and freedom destroying ewaste. Found these though:https://hackaday.io/project/179949-openrpncalc/https://www.47calc.com/Apparently you can install the latter on a SwissMicro.
