Popular chatting platform Discord has confidentially filed for an initial public offering (IPO), reports Bloomberg, citing sources close to the matter.The company has been considering an IPO for years. Last year, sources told Bloomberg that Discord was working with Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase on the listing.

I have little doubt that less than two years after they launch their IPO, Discord will be monetizing virtually every new feature and Nitro will have increased in price by at least 50%. We’ll have Coca-Cola ads in the middle of text channels and sponsored servers you can’t remove from your sidebar. And you better believe there’s going to be multiple GenAI “features” being shoved into every server whether they’re wanted or not.
