Zoomer here. I heard from my teacher today that phones used to have a slot like the sim card one where you could put in those digital camera memory sd cards in it. Why did no one complain when this happened?

Because the only use case for them nowadays is on chink handhelds where you can just have every retro game imaginable on a sd card or for cameras which will have them already.

That way if your iPhone crashes or you break it, you can recover everything from browser history, cache, and more.

My previous phone had a removable battery, it was nearly dead, I tried to buy a replacement, but every "new" battery I found was almost a decade old and they all as useless as the original one or worse after being stored for so long. Removable batteries would only really make sense if they were standardized and you can be sure you'll be able to buy a new one, otherwise it's snake oil.

Most are reliant on cloud computing storage and don't have the ability or knowledge to do it other than signing into their Google or iCloud account for auto syncing, instead of doing it on a PC OS that will sync it anyways
