What is better: a 14" or a 16" MacBook Pro? I can't decide. It's unironically too difficult to decide. On one hand, I would prefer the larger display, on the other hand I use my laptop exclusively when I can't use my PC to do something, which means I need a laptop for use around the house and carry it outside first and foremost. I absolutely do not want to use an external monitor almost ever though.
>>107850587side by side, my friend's mbp 15" looked colossal. must be a lot nicer for media consumption and documents, but he had to lug around a larger bag to work as a result. whichever you pick will be immediately more comfortable than a phone, but imo 13" sounds like a good fit for u.t. 13" 2010
>>107850587 (Me)Also, forgot to ask: is typing experience good on the 16"? From the pics, the keyboard kinda looks rather far.My last laptop (non-Apple) was 15.3" (16:10). I didn't think it was particularly large, but I've never owned a 14" laptop in the first place.
>>107850587I bought and returned a 14in model. The receding hairline camera on the top was too much. Have a 16in from work that I’ve been using exclusively instead
>>107850617>he had to lug around a larger bag to work as a resultMy current bag fits up to 15.6">13"Why? Never owned a 13", but sounds kinda small
>>107850587I already have a desktop, so all my laptops are on the smaller side, 12-14 inches.
>>107850587Man do I miss numpad on my keyboard whenever I use a 14" laptop.16" Macbook can't have shit
I guess the question I want to have the answer to is: is it actually true that a 16" MacBook Pro much more heavy and uncomfortable to carry in a bag than a 14", or is it at all overexaggerated? Because I already owned a 15.3" non-Apple laptop and found it rather fine (but may not know what I'm missing since I've never owned a 14"). If this 16" MacBook is okay to carry, I would rather prefer it I guess.Any way to decide on this other than buying both of them?
>>107850705>uncomfortable to carry in a baghave you considered going to the gym?I've daily at 15.6" for a few years and had a 14" before that. The portability was nice but at the end of the day having a screen that is bigger is nicer, especially since you're just sitting it on a table and not carrying it while using it like a smartphone.
>>107850908>have you considered going to the gym?I hate this meme. It has nothing to do with muscle, a big bulky laptop is just in the way, no matter how buff you are. When I had a thin and light, it was always in my shoulder bag, because it didn't get in the way. Currently have a shitty gaming laptop (temporary) that's 15 inches and much thicker and heavier, it's annoying to carry around and I selectively only take it when I know I 100% need it, running into occasions where I could have used it but didn't have it with me quite often.
>>107850908PPI is more important IMOI can just have it closer
>>107850587a small macbook is for twinks and a big one is for big fagboys. either way, if you buy a macbook you are gay.
>>107850587>MBPTough choice, both are legit.>more portable, on-the-go computing? 14">churn performance to the most? 16"If the question is MBA, very easy. Always go 13" (15" is kinda wasteful)My personal rule is:-only own one laptop: 14" with decent specs-own two laptops: 12/13" detachable/ultrabook with bare minimum specs & 16" maxed out workstation (assume won't own a desktop)>>107850705Heavy, not really. MBP problem is a bit more of dimension than weight. 16" MBP isn't much heavier than 14" MBP. Most compact bags could fit 14" MBP easily while 16" might not.If you can carry around typical big gaming laptop around. 16" MBP is fucking nothing. Some brands offer bags/backpacks specifically designed for MacBook in mind, choices are plenty.
