How come my LED light bulb dies after turning on 50k times but the LED on a LAN port blinks 5 times per second for 30 years?
>>
>>107855589
because you jerk off to trannies and are a closet gay.
>>
>>107855589
since it blinks so fast it experiences time slower, so once you account for time dilatoon the actual lifetime is about the same
>>

first post and a poltard made it about trannies kekl

pol being raided by troons, pajeets and kikes non stop is what make poltards go out of their containment chan. Give him a break

the ethernet LED uses at least an order of magnitude less energy, I bet that plays a role

lmaoo, i remember watching this with audio a long time ago, hilarious. i remember /fit doing a game in the same style to, it was funny.

photons go the speed of light, they don't experience time at all.

crack one open and you'll see why. the leds are overdriven to get them as bright as possible.you car led headlights gonna have the same problem.
>>
>>107855589
Real answer?
Your network card don't send a lot of current to your LEDs, because they don't need to be bright enough to lit a room, and because, even if cutting corners is a given when building laptop, it's not that pinchy.

Your lightbulb LEDs on the other hand are produced to be as cheap as possible in very very large quantities, and should emit as much light as possible for the price.
They can afford to make it burn in 6 months, when you don't even remember where you buy it anyway.
So they use the cheapest resistor available and let pass way more current than reasonable to make it brighter.
If you want LED lightbulb that last virtually forever, just change the resistor yourself (5 cents and 1h if you have never done it before) or try to find "dubai" lamps (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klaJqofCsu4).

See Dubai light bulbs, also.

Definitely makes my tinfoil feel justified.

Seems like a good DIY project, except for the possibility of making your life hell if you need to claim insurance on a house fire.

Usually what fails in led lightbulbs is the ac->dc converter, the led is perfectly fine.
>>
>>107855589
Shitty LED bulb manufacturers overdrive the LEDs in bulbs to shorten their lifespans by cooking them, and existing lampshades and luminaires worsen this by trapping heat and cooking the bulb further. Were it not for this, LED bulbs would last until external factors killed them (corrosion, thermal cycling, e.t.c.)
>>
>>107855589
you ever see those incandescent bulbs that have lasted over a hundred years? notice that they're always really dim? same thing. pushing the led for max brightness kills it more quickly. also
>>107855911
so the bulb contains 10 leds or whatever and they're wired so that if one dies the whole bulb dies. many more opportunities for a single component failure to break the whole bulb.
>>
>>107855956
The issue is just bad thermal design. They drive everything harder than needed and the things just cook themselves to death, especially the ones with caps in them.
>>
>>107856124
It’s stupid too, cause unlike incandescent, you can get a ton of light from driving LEDs at a low current. It’s not a choice between usability and lifetime
>>
>>107855911
Shitty ones maybe. Sylvania warranties their headlight bulbs for 5 years and they are blindingly bright.
>>
>>107855605
I was gonna say "because you touch yourself at night" but you beat me to it :(
>>
>>107855653
not funny. didn't even crack a smile.
>>
>>107856153
okay tranny
>>
>>107856153
liar, you can't stop laughing right now.
>>
Oh yeah some led consuming micro watts comparing to another consuming 1000x electricity
>>
>>107856135
They'd need to spend 10 or 20x more on that BoM line item to get the same lumens claim.

Hard sell to management and marketing, particularly when burn-out rate is probably the sales rate +- a few percent.
