What is the point of VPN?

Yes, you hide your IP address but you can't hide the fact that you are hiding your IP address because your new VPN IP address is already known as a datacenter IP address and you'll get automatically treated as a bot everywhere.

Also, using a VPN requires you to install that VPN company's client software on your PC which can be considered as a privacy problem on its own.

I guess you haven't heard of residential proxies huh

Do you have any idea about the pricing for residential proxies; it's like 10x VPN. Also, they are all shady af.

A large number of websites refuse to serve my country of residence, but will serve an IP in one of mullvad's ASes just fine

There are open source clients like OpenVPN and Wireguard.
>>

how did you pay for mullvad? with monero?
>>

Like a normal person

No such thing is required. Those executables you downloaded when you typed "how hide IP VPN free 2026?" into google weren't legit little bro.

>What is the point of VPN?
big lan network, as simple as
>Yes, you hide your IP address
from who?
>but you can't hide the fact that you are hiding your IP address
vpn aren't designed to hide anything
>because your new VPN IP address is already known as a datacenter IP address and you'll get automatically treated as a bot everywhere.
who forced you to use a datacenter?
>Also, using a VPN requires you to install that VPN company's client software on your PC
you are fake news

you say "vpn" while in fact you're talking about geoblocking-escape providers, I would not call these companies vpn providers as that's not really the service they sell, they aren't extending your lan and oyu don't have access to anything on theirs, you use it to escape geoblocking, that's pretty much teh only usecase for these things.

Only if you are retarded and use the bad ones. All okay VPN providers offer you to use wireguard/openvpn configs instead. That being said, all VPNs suck.

What's the difference between those and VPNs?

t. Two-Digit IQ

"residential proxies" are hacked residential networks
youre basically piggybacking off the internet of some random family
>>
>>107858864
Oh, I see. I thought it was some legal service.
>>
>>107858872
Only in the sense that crime is legal if you're an AI company.
>>
>>107858488
To bypass arbitrary website blocks that may exist in certain countries, get access to more info, buy stuff, get a slightly higher level of privacy. Paying extra for a dedicated IP won't get you treated as a bot. Mullvad only provides shared dynamic IP's but that'd still be sufficient to bypass website blocks.
>>
>>107858872
it is legal and people who agree to this are getting paid $0.003/h for running a crypto "passive income" app
(they don't know some random guy from Pakistan is downloading 48tb of cp using their network)
>>
>>107858488
>Yes, you hide your IP address
That is precisely NOT the point of VPN.
lurk moar, get a clue.
