BFGPU bros... how are you holding up? Think we'll make it another 5 years? How is reliability?
>>107859250>4090 is literally *TWICE* as fastimagine buying a 3090 for the overinflated GPU prices of that period and exactly two years latter when GPU prices had settled down too the 4090 releases
>>107859250I hope the 60 series does NOT come out this year. I don't have much money left. If the card comes out this year, I won't be able to afford it and be forever priced out of being able to buy one. I have 2 3090s, that's how I'm holding up. I couldn't imagine just having 1.>>107859311I bought both of mine used for $600 & $700. I have 48gb vram, you only have 24. Your speed doesn't matter when it can't load and run 70b models like I can.
>>107859250i barely use it and its in my sub pcstill works fine and it can run at 480W all day long since i repadded and repasted it last year
>>107859353I have a 3090 too, bought last year for 550€ as a dedicated AI card. I was talking about actual 3090 fags who got one before 40 was launched.
>>107859364At launch? Yeah I feel bad for them too, but at that time it was a good deal since the 20 series dumpster fire. People that bought the 20 series are the ones that got fucked the most in recent gpu history. Completely forgettable. I just now remembered that there was a crypto bullrun before the 40 series came out, so there was a time where the 3090 was like almost $3000. The bullrun ended and it came down to like $500 a week before the 4090 launched.
>>1078593114090 is 2x aa fast for more than 2x the money on average and has the stupid connector
>>107859463>more than 2x the moneyWasn't always the case. The 3090 used to be overpriced as fuck, like easily 2x MSRP.Meanwhile the 4090 was available for MSRP for a period.
>>107859463There's no way the 4090 is twice is fast. Only if you're counting using DLSS or some shit. Natively it's only like 30-40% faster at best.
>>107859492V-ray/optix/cycles
>>107859492nope, native
>>107859492>Natively it's only like 30-40% faster at best.
>>107859501This isn't native, says DLSS right there. But both cards are using same DLSS settings.
>>1078592501080p is all i need.4k without a crt or 500hz oled screen is retarded.
>>107859507Crazy how xx80 cant beat prev gen xx90 and xx70 cant beat xx80Its like improvements are fixed now as higher tiers than generations
>>107859513iirc there's a version of dlss that was for 4090 & newer, unavailable to the 3090. This is where all the claims of the 4090 being twice as fast is coming from. It's the same people that believe the 5070 is as fast as the 4090.
>>1078595284080 beat the 3090 though in performance jump from 40 series to 50 series wasn't as high as 30 to 40 in general though
>>107859542No, you're confusing it with the new DLSS 4.5 models that are faster on 40 and 50 series compared to 20 and 30.That only released on January 5th. The benchmark where >>107859501 is from is from last year and pre-dates it.The 4090 even in raw performance is almost twice as fast, see >>107859507.
>>107859556By like what? 1%? You guys need to stop looking at DLSS numbers.
Is the coil whine on xx90 GPUs bad?
>>10785958233%, see >>107859507TPU doesn't use DLSS in their benchmarks.
>>107859412And now both 3090 and 4090 have gone up, with 3090 at 750 or higher.
>>107859631Depends more on the specific manufacturer and SKU. Some use better coils and dampen the coils.
