Also, get an RSS/Atom feed, if you have a blog. XHTML is always a goodie, because it makes parsing your website with XML parsing tools possible. Don't forget to have fun and be yourself, literally, don't think too much about what other people could think about your site, it's your realm of expression, and you shall use it.
