how are you holding up with the best thinkpad ever made
>>107863987Unless you're buying frankenpad like X210Ai, nobody cares about your glorified doorstep.
I threw my x230 into the garbage sometime around 2020. I regret nothing
>>107863987>how are you holding up with the best thinkpad ever madeAmazing, planning on doing the classic keyboard mod like yourself shortly!
>>107863987>best16:9...
>>107863987>2 cores in 2026Just observing this empty desktop makes you realize you can't do anything worthwhile on this dinosaur.4 core thinkpads are now in the bargain bin, holding on these is not frugality it's just being plain stupid.
I just upgraded my old dual core laptop, not a thinkpad it had an intel 480m cpu. It was loud as shit (even after cleaning fans and repasting). and I couldn't manage it to boot with 8GB of RAM despite officially being supported. 4GB is too little today, had to restart firefox every 30 minutes. The nvidia drivers were also not supported anymore and it was always a pain to update the kernel due to that. The speed didn't bother me at all. I was thinking about getting an x230, but where I live these are for some reason still expensive as shit
>>107863987My x200 is sitting on the shelf. It's the fault of the web for getting bloated as hell but doesn't change the fact these are not comfortable to use in 2026.
X220 king here using it as we speakMost comfy keyboard ever made removing it was a crime against humanity
>>107864236>for some reason still expensive as shitThey're sought after for their compatibility with Coreboot/Libreboot (primarily the latter). The form factor and build is nice, but I don't think that alone would justify buying a more than decade old laptop.
>>107864186>4 core thinkpads are now in the bargain binEven so, Youtube starts using modern codec that doesn't run well even on a 2018 Stinkpad unless you go out of the way to install h264ify extension. This wouldn't bode well.
>>107864029>I threw my x230 into the garbage sometime around 2020havent touched mine in yearshonestly dont even know what to do with it now
>>107864186>>107864447I just watch jewtube on an i7 quad core x230 with 40% CPU usage
>>107864186you can do a lot on dual core, it just forces you to not use shitty software
>>107863987Well you're clearly not one of them since this is a photo that you copied from over a year ago.https://desuarchive.org/g/thread/100680686#100680686

>>107863987I have an X220 Tablet and installed Fedora on it recently which makes it somewhat usable again, but jesus christ that 12" 1366x768 screen is not enough for me.
