People always make fun of air coolers. Is it because it is deprecated technology?
Yes.Just water you PC it's got electrolytes.
I've got ten 140mm noctua fans in my fractal define 7 xl and it runs ice cold
>>107869298Water cooling is better at handling sudden temperature spikes, but less reliable long-term.
>>107869298Yes
>>107869361>but less reliable long-term.!FUD
Water cooling is a hassle, more fragile, requires maintenance, more expensive and has a risk of killing your components with a leak and it still needs air coolers. Fucking useless garbage.
>>107869298Everything has it's use cases.
>>107869552/threadthere's specific scenarios where you want one or the other
>>107869552What about cheeseburger suppositories?
>>107869298Yes, even a $70 240mm AIO mogs the NH-D15-G2, and they don't look xboxhueg.
>>107869356Same, but Corsair 750D Airflow Edition.
>>107869298water cooling is just air cooling with a middleman. most people don’t even use big enough radiators to meaningfully outperform good air coolers
Air cannot carry heat like water. The very idea of needing to cool your pc is a psyop.
It's inferior cooling, but if you don't need it, run away. Installation is more cumbersome, and pump noise -IS- annoying.
It's only slightly better. And if you don't need it then you don't need it. It's quieter supposedly, but Idk how that possible since it's still using fans.
>>107869520The Elmer kind
>>107869298If you spend even half of what a decent AIO costs on air cooling the differences are negligable. Most people just like the aesthetics...
>>107869298use case for air cooling?
>>107869356Based Fractal enjoyer.>>107869298I'll always go for air cooling because when those fans fail the worst that happens is my PC just SCRAMs and shuts itself down from overheating vs. water spraying around the inside of my case like an actress in a JVN getting bukakked.
>>107871521any case with good vents, meshes at the front and back.
I spent a bunch on an aio because it made displaying waifus easier
>>107871549Nice Love me anime boobs
>>107871549What case is that?
>>107871442wtf is an air cooler? Looks like just a heatsink+fan? I don't get it
>>107869298Now that we're moving in the reverse direction hardware wise, hopefully all passive PC's become the mainstream norm.Dead silent computing, not even coil whine because they're not pushing components so hard.
In terms of permformance, yes water coolers are better than air. In terms of durability, and cost sometimes air coolers are better and the best option.
