I got a chinkshit label printer, it is pretty good for a thermal printer, I tried a cat printer before with adhesive paper and the text didn't last a week.

There are two types of thermal printers - ones that burn text off heat-activated paper that fades away in weeks, and ones that use separate rolls of ink film. The latter (thermal transfer) are more expensive but labels last basically forever and can have transparent, metal etc fancy background and colored ink rolls.
