started coding a few days ago and I've got a little game / visual novel thing with html and javascript.
what projects did you guys start with?

Just to let you know, I believe there is a 9% chance that you, OP, are the Chris.
When I prove who the Chris is, justice will be served. He will be told to fuck off.

I use AI and I don’t need to learn to code

i'm not 'the chris' skitzo

>>107875190
you can use ai to learn how to code, that's what I do
>>
>>107875207
As I said, I only put it at a 9% chance. Chris wouldn't be the one to use javascript.
Usually wouldn't be the one to use javascript.

Why do I need to learn how to code? It’s like learning how to ride a horse instead of just driving a car
>>
I mostly learned by doing pointless coding puzzles. I don't think I've ever built anything actually useful. I lack the creativity or vision to come up with my own projects. I think something is seriously wrong with me and I don't know how to get better.
>>

My first exposure to programming was at school back in 2014 or so, where we were taught C++. I used to play Aardwolf MUD back then, so the first "real" personal project was a sort of text adventure RPG game, although it was single player only and my programming ability and knowledge was quite limited. When I think about it, it was probably the most fun I have ever had in programming. Everything slowly went downhill from there.

because its fun, and when doing complicated things, Ai doesn't get it right. if you don't know how to code, you can't assess whether AI got it right or not.

create a game that you find fun. or think of something you currently do manually that could be solved with code. I'm mostly learning to try automate things in my business, I can think of tons of things I do manually in google sheets that I need a tool to automate

I built a chrome extension that when i click “save” on a nude reddit post, it also forwards that post title and URL to my own server, so i can more easily index and search good nudes and don’t run up against the 1,000 post save limit.

Writing text adventures on a ZX Spectrum from stuff learned from basic listings at 9 years old.

You're LATE

Yeah but is cooler and more fun. Also i built the backend so i can have it work with other websites.

>create a game that you find fun.
I've got a graveyard of abandoned games. I've never been able to come up with an actually fun idea and can't into art or music or writing.

>or think of something you currently do manually that could be solved with code.
I don't do anything.
>>
>>107875331
>I don't do anything.
Well, that's your problem. Why do you even complain about the lack of creativity? You simply do not have any material and, therefore, no knowledge about problems in any particular field from which you can create ideas and build programming projects. You cannot come up with a solution out of thin air for something that you do not even know exists.
>>
>>107875414
Yeah. What is there to do? What do people do? I don't know. I just exist. As I said, there is something wrong with me.
>>
>>107875331
(cont.) Also, all the things that you "can't into" are learnable. The human brain is amazing at acquiring new knowledge and skills.
>>
>>107875331
>>107875434
your negative beliefs are self fulfilling, many such cases.
>>
>>107875469
I've been able to teach myself other subjects. But I never found useful learning materials for this.

>>107875489
Fail long enough and you stop believing in the possibility of success. Dunno how to dig out of this hole.
