Latest winslop 11 update literally broke my computer. Chrome tabs lag, a 1080p video almost froze my computer. Is this the end for personal computing?
Join us brother. Take the linuxpill
>>107878391>still using jeetdows in 2k26Imagine not buying a mac or taking the linuxpill anon
>>107878391Gentoo doesn't have this problem.
I have no such issues on my Apple MacBook Pro M5 running macOS Tahoe.
>>107878399You still cannot play games on it can you. >>107878417Mac is planned obsolescence it works fine for 5 years then they unload a new os with unnecessarily fancy graphics and you cannot upgrade Macs so you have to buy a new one.
Grab an empty flash drive and google one of these OP. Takes 15 minutes and you're done.>CachyOS>Mint>MX Linux>Debian>Pop!_OS>EndeavourOS>Zorin>Manjaro>Fedora OS>Ubuntu>>107878481The compatibility issues are really overblown. There are a few specific games that have weird lag issues when pulling up menus, but it's only really noticeable if you have a shit PC like I do. If you have Flatseal permissions turned on and Proton downloaded (Steam downloaded it automatically) everything will be fine
>>107878399I wanna use adobe shit and CSP. Can I still join the linux side?
>>107878481As long as its not cowadoody, battlefield, riot games, or something similar, gaming is pretty alright. God bless Gabe
>>107878391Works fine on mine.
>>107878563wine used to solve that, at least adobe, check if it still does
>>107878563Linux has a fuckton of free available alternatives for the same services, and if you are really desperate for that specific program you can just use a virtual machine and run Windows devices on it. Though I would try the former first
>>107878585I've invest too much time on CSP and don't really wanna learn a new art software.I don't like GIMP or Inkscape also. I'm learning Illustrator but I was considering Affinity but that shit doesn't work on linux too.
>>107878749Almost a decade ago I decided I was tired of pirating photoshop and wanted to try finding something free, so I found out krita and started learning it. I was a windows fag and wouldn't consider ever using linux, I just wanted something less annoying to install. In hindsight that was one of the best decisions of my life. I'm so used to it now that when I look at photoshop I get completely lost.
>>107878796I was going to recommend Krita to him but I didn't know photoshop well enough to say for certain it could do all the same things. I've unironically never used photoshop for anything
>>107878391i was messing with this shitty laptop and i put ltsc 2019 on it. desktop ram usage after install was only 600mb. im not even using windows 11, im on ltsc 21h2 and my desktop ram usage is 3-4gb at bootup
>>107878481>You still cannot play games on it can you.Only if a game is using Riot Vanguard, EA Javelin or Easy Anti-Cheat.Battleeye and like 90% of other chink anti-cheats work without issues.
>>107879434Check out Puppy Linux
>>107879606>Easy Anti-CheatThis one works too, if game devs check the "allow wine" checkbox
>>107878513the fact that it exists at all means linux will never be mainstream. Until the mere thought of "do I need to look up whether my game will work or not on my system" (outside of hardware based performance) is eradicated from linux, it will never take over from plug n play windows. You can cope all you want, but the general normie doesn't give a shit about your opinion and only cares if valorant or w.e fotm streamer slop game will work so they can follow along with their favourite e-celeb
>>107878585>I want to use X>You can't but you can instead use Y as a free alternativethat's not a fucking solution you retard
>>107878391Go back to 10 or 8 or jump to linux. 11 is a disaster.
>>107879693No, the solution is to find an old version that is compatible with Wine and run itThe better solution is to just not use loicensed corposlop programs.
>>107879680>linux will never be mainstreamI don't care tho this isn't a competition. If people want to stay on the sinking ship that's their problem>plug n play windowsIt was plug n play for me on Linux…
>>107878391windows 9/11
>>107879870okay, but that doesn't change the fact that the general public play multiplayer games and half the anti-cheats do not function on linux. I agree that kernel level anti cheat is a cancer but it's also used by all the major players at this point and is genuinely here to stay
>>107879680normalfags don't even play games
>>107878391Take the Ubuntu-pill, brother
>>107878563>>107878585>>107879693CSP does work in linux btw
>>107879623i like things that work, thanks
>>107879924anticheat is a losing battle anyway. hackers are getting impossible to detect.
>>107880003a hypothetical losing battle has no immediate direct impact on functional issues of those (very popular) games not working. It also remains a question of those developers/publishers seeing success from that version of anti-cheat, whether any of us agree with it or not, and using it for their future products. So you're essentially blocking yourself from ever using anything from that company
>>107878399implying it wont uninstall the desktop environment randomly or some other dumb nonsense
