It was made for Windows and not Linux. Linux and Windows use different executable formats and have various other design differences that make running the Microsoft Office software suite natively impossible. Hope this helps.

Microsoft Office peaked in the Office 2007 suite, which has now been superseded by LibreOffice, so there's not actually any need to run Office on linux

And if you don't have a work issued laptop, the webapp is completely fine for quick edits.
The day that linuxfags create a decent excel equivalent will be the day I start using linux, but that would imply they are able to create something of value instead of just cosmetic shit for their OS.
