Why don't we have these kind of GPU repair shops in the west? I also want a custom GPU: https://youtu.be/TcRGBeOENLg
>>107880757>Why don't we have these kind of GPU repair shops in the west?because ngreedia's lawyers would rape you in halfthen keep raping the giblets until they become to small to hold in a hand
Brainlet Americans do not have specific expertise.
>>107880757anon do you lack critical thinking? cmon now
I don't think Brother Zhang got those GPU schematics "legally"...
wait if it's that easy to install more ram on gpu why don't they just sell gpu with large memory??
Is there any driver issues or wierd shit with those or they work like standard out of the box? Seriously considering buying modded one
>>107880757>VGA already fucked up by hard core mining repaired 6 times>lots of hear wear and tare>removes the gpu and memory with high heat>puts back the gpu and memory with high heatHow long do you think that chink 48GB pile of trash will last?
>>107881264Nvidia wouldn't allow it. Consumer cards must be designed with planned obsolescence in mind and never offer an alternative to whatever Quadro is called now for professional workloads.
>>107880757most of these mods fail quick, DO NOT do that if you value your" investment" (aka nvidia scam)t. electrical engineer
the biggest issue with these mods is the insufficient power delivery, most modders skip testing what they install because they know it will fry your core under stress
>>107881754They test with Black Myth Wukong and Geekbench as part of the process in the video
>>107881805that's not stress for 4090 though run a model for a while maxing the memory and bandwidth
>double the vram on the 12vHouseFire>power delivery? its good brahsurely...
that place looks like a literal sweatshop, shit covered in dust and cheap pc fans attached to cheap "ducts" that barely do anything to stop the workers from huffing in metal fumeshe also says repeatedly labor costs in america are why this doesn't exist here which means these people get paid burger flipper wages at best, probably worse, for high skilled, tedious, damaging to your health workI also highly doubt these kinds of extensive modifications have a lot of durability or lack of problemsReusing hardware and giving the finger to corporations is cool but don't forget how much of a shithole filled with starving sweatshop workers china actually isthe whole country is about cutting corners and that includes treating people and safety as expendable
installing additional memory is far more than slapping chips on, the whole electrical delivery needs to be modded too which means you have to source the right components for the job but modders usually use cheap aliexpress bulk components instead, which will fry the memory and core within months.
>>1078807571. Western countries are highly regulated to protect "IP" and copyright.2. Western currencies (dollar, euro, sterling et al.), are overvalued making it impossible for such businesses to break even, let alone profit, locally.3. Rent is a fraction in China as the US, one third on average when only comparing the top three major cities: https://medium.com/@hrnews1/report-rent-prices-in-china-are-74-cheaper-than-the-u-s-8e16e78e41c0The rent gap widens even further, with smaller fractions outside of the major cities in China. And they have high-speed rail making it possible for Chinese workers to not have to live in the major cities to work there. Furthermore it's normal in their culture for adults to live with their parents, reducing labor costs even further.4. China has all the tools and equipment you can buy affordably within short distances. This is partly why even Eastern European shitholes would struggle to have such businesses.
>>107880757Based Tech Jesus. Can you believe China will be the one who ends up saving technology?Good time to start learning some Cantonese and Mandarin!
>>107881856in a sense they replace nvidia approved components with worse components and actually do more harm than good, in a way "simply slapping chips on" would actually be the better option even if it will leads to the same fried outcome lmao
>>107881835they use a brand new PCB, you can make the plug whatever you want.
How much does It cost?
