all the hype around the SM diedlmao
And then the next press release will come and it’ll all be back. You’re new to this, aren’t you?
>>107881437The Valvetendo GabeCube!
>>107881437Bad timing. Developing this just before hardware prices fucking explode. Might as well just get a PS5 or a PS5 lite when they come out with it. It's PS5's, PS5 lites and PS5 pro's until 2035.
>>107881463Valve would've procured contracts on ram and other components before the announcement. This is also the reason PS5s aren't jumping up in price (yet), because Sony locked down contracts of their own beforehand as well. However, that's not to say how long these contracts are good for, and once they need to be renewed, that will certainly cause issues. Which could still lead to a delay or higher price to start, because Valve might not want to release it at a given price just to have to increase the price significantly a year later, and piss everyone off. But speaking of the PSquintuple, with those spicy new hacks that just came out, a PS5 or PS5pro might unironically become the most accessible way to get into PC gaming. If the hacks result in the ability to install linux and just treat the thing as a custom "prebuilt"
i'll get one
>Announce product>No price>No release date>Do nothing>looming technological headaches outside of their controlIt's a 101 of exactly how to kill hype.
>>107881520Valve has the worst luck when it comes to hardware anything.
actually am really looking forward to the controller. SM I don't care
>>107881520>thinks announcements are done before any work as occurredyeah, nah
>>107881498>Valve would've procured contracts on ram and other components before the announcement.True. But even at my job for things like lumber and other materials we'll usually have a condition in the contract that if material prices go up so and so percentage beyond our control that we have a right to increase the price by an equivalent amount.
they waited too long to 'perfect' it, they should have iterated more quickly after seeing the steamdeck succeed. but desu they couldn't have seen sam altman's ram fuckery coming
>>107881437I said from the outset, 299 or DoA. People didn’t want to spend $600 on a console back when the economy was hot. They sure as fuck aren’t going to spend it now.
>>107881437>>107881463snoys are getting desperate
