How the fuck is a 1998 game capable of generating collisions for any terrain and it just works on super old hardware?
Meanwhile Godot's trimesh is so slow it cannot even run smoothly on modern hardware (and also broken since version 4), while anything other than trimesh will cause the player to literally fall through the stage?

Can someone explain this?
>>
>>107889363
Godot sucks.
Any other dumb questions?
>>
>>107889363
M64 isn't even impressive for the hardware it runs on...

>Godot
Lmao try unity pipsqueak

>Godot sucks.
does it now

I leave this here.

There are modern Quake engines, like CEA (MikeeUSA), Ironwail, and Quakespasm.

Have they fixed the physics bug where a sphere rolling down a perfectly flat plane would start bouncing more and more whenever it crossed the boundary of two perfectly aligned collision shapes? I remember seeing it still unsolved four years ago.
>>
>>107890119
godotshits would say "we got jolt physics now" after the previous years of trying to push their own inferior physics engine to replace bullet physics
>>
>>107890167
What is wrong with bullet anyway? Can anyone tell?

Are soft body physics still buggy in jolt? Is KinematicBody3D ever coming back to Godot main? What is AnimatableBody3D even supposed to accomplish?

SM64 could be a college course
>>
>>107889363
listen, OP. waiting for a FOSS project to magically get better is a an exercise in futility.
if there's a problem go fix it and make a PR. at least create an issue instead of bitching on /g/ where it won't make a difference.
>>
>>107889363
First we need to talk about parallel universes.
>>
>>107890073
They are just different forks of old id Tech.

>no one will ever improve fosshit programs unless you Do it Yourself(TM)
so why would he contribute to this shitty project that's apparently dead according to you? might as well just rewrite everything from scratch and learn something useful, rather than trying to fix some idiot's spaghetti code only for him to say "umm can you please follow my CODING STYLE?" or just refuse to incorporate the patch because of some reason he made up.
I contributed to an open source project exactly once and they basically made me feel like a code janny working for free and the fags kept telling me to change the way I wrote comments and the names of my variables. Very disrespectful. I'm never contributing to open source.

Is Juan still refusing to switch to modern C++?
>>
>>107890073
FTEQW has the widest support for models and assets if I remember correctly.
>>
>>107890320
Assuming you have the models and textures ready, sure. Although getting the actual animations to work in OpenGL is a pain
Would be an awesome college course though
>>
>>107890342
15 MILLION lines of code. Fuck off, I am not going to even open that bloat in my editor as the LSP would probably freeze my entire computer
>>
>>107890359
nice blog, faggot. did you expect someone to kiss your feet for doing something they do 100x a day?
I'm not even a FOSS tranny but don't bring the expectations of a paying customer when you use a free fucking product.
and again, did OP create an issue or is he just drumming up drama?
>>
>>107889363

It's trannyware. Meanwhile the other one is a samurai's handwork.

fucking music immediately started playing in my head seeing this picture
>>

>godotshits would say "we got jolt physics now" after the previous years of trying to push their own inferior physics engine to replace bullet physics
And then people ask why everyone hates juan the tyrant who pushes this shit.
>>
>>107890342
>go fix it
It is like saying
>Ha you do not like my Asus computer?
>Go mine your own ore and build a new car!

Do you retards think that game devs have nothing better to do and music and graphics and models magically create themselves?
>>
>>107890620
no, it's not like that because you paid for your asus computer, but you will never pay for Godot.
you're not a gamedev. you're some loser who doesn't understand or respect the value chain.
you either contribute to a product with money or labor. otherwise it's you who expects things to magically create themselves.
the only reason you're using Godot in the first place is because you're so stingy, that you weren't even willing to pay for Unity in the unlikely event that your game is successful.
>>
>>107889363
>it just works
But it doesn't. Look at the type shit speedrunners do. Also, Godot now has Jolt physics, enable it from Project Settings.
>>
>>107890477
this game is straight from the media assassins
