Do you like COSMIC?
>>107894057Nice design. Unfortunately, it's rife with bugs.
>>107894057>Do you like fake ai generated space images presented as pictured
>>107894057Haven't tried it yet. Hear it has a tiling mode, which would be nice.
>>107894057Last time I tried it it took way too much ram and was prone to crashing but this was alpha or beta, couple of months ago.I also don't like the overly round shapes. It annoys me so much I won't even look at it even if it was the most optimized thing in the world.
>>107894057No. Why the fuck would I want my Linux to look like osx out of all things? I really don't get it, it's like those vegans who eat hot-dog-shaped tofu, literally why would anyone want to disguise anything as the one thing they don't want? It's psychotic.
>>107894057So far I like it. A couple of bugs that need ironed out that I have personally expereinced.>Cosmic ScreenshotIt's fucked. I use screenshot a LOT for content creation and other things. I depend on it as a main tool for my daily use. It's been broken since the last update. While they say they are working on it, it's annoying as fuck that doesn't work.>Steam bugSteam UI goes black when min'ing and max'ing after a game is shut down. Don't know if they are aware, haven't checked the github yet.Other than those two things I haven't had any issues. So far, I like it a lot actually.
>>107894078???
>COSMIC is a desktop environment developed in the Rust...dropped
>>107894057havent personally used it, but I like that they gave Gnome the middle finger and started something from scratch
>>107894057I used it for months but switched back to gnome because it was too buggy and they didn't fix major bugs before calling it 1.0currently at 21 days of uptime on gnome and it just worksif it was as reliable as gnome has been i'd use it
>>107894057It's a bit rough around the edges but it's getting better every day.
>>107894057Its alright but as others said the bugs still need to be ironed out and I saw some shit performance switching windows on a fast laptop. For open source recently released stuff that is ok, but time moves fast and I hope they keep fixing stuff. Making gsconnect "just work" would make it perfect for my needs.Whole distro feels like a good balance of just works and freedoms. I mostly use it for coding/spotify and chilling on the internets.
It'll probably be good in a year or two. I used it for a few hours and couldn't make custom shortcuts work at all.
Basically an out-of-the-box useable Gnome without extensions.Hope it doesn't end up like Budgie if it ever becomes independent of their original distro, even though Budgie had potential and Solus is a bit underrated these days.
