You literally just doxxed me. Its super comfy btw, in an age where everything is put together into one device (smartphones) I feel great that if one of my gadgets break i dont have to sacrifice buying a completely new one, just because one or two aspects of it malfunction (like a broken camera on a phone)
>>
>>107895970
my thoughts are you're probably gay.
>>
>>107896048
you have more gadgets increasing the likelyhood of failure
admittedly, a counter point would be that simpler devices tend tt be more robust, and less often targeted for planned obsolescence
>>
IDK i do like the idea of having single purpose items but i'm really not sure how well it works in practice in 2026
>>
>>107896069
You'll have a better version of each one though.
>>
>>107895970
Cool person, I'd like to be your friend. But I don't want to call or message you, because your phone is incredibly unsafe. Only "protected" by a pin, everything can be read out in clear text. Hop on Graphene and get Signal.
>>
>>107896177
yeah, and carry 36 things in your pockets?
better get some baggies, kek
also the claim of better quality is disputable at best
how can you display the time with more quality?
more displayingly, or something?

if you wanna get a watch get something expensive at least
not some cheapo casio you bought for 30 bucks
>>
>>107896032
In OP's defense, casio/watch is debatable, sometimes you go out without your phone or have the batteries out.
>>
>>107895970
All that ancient, boomer tier slop has been replaced by my S23U.
>>
>>107896069
also single purpose tools are used less often, right? your smartphone is being used whenever you need a GPS, camera, mp3 player, web browser, check the time, alarm clock, calling/texting. if you have separate devices, you only use them for that one function when you need to.
>>
>>107896199
you ask someone, or take the time from your environment
where i live, pharmacies show the time
theres time on hotels, train station towers
on parking machines, and in busses, trams, metro stations

>>
>>107896219

you wear these tools down or you break, lose, replace them for a better model?
i never had a phone wear down on me
but i lost a couple watches because you wear them exposed on your wrist.
>>
>>107896221
Hallo, thats how I grew up as a late zoomer, but it's to unreliable. I think the watch is a good good in this specific kit.
>>

counterpoint: what will happen first:
will you wear down your devices with use?
or will you break, lose or otherwise replace them with new ones?

i never had a phone break on me because of wear.
but i broke a couple watches because theyre exposed on your wrist
i used to be more into bling shall i say
>>
>>107896198
Why would I do that? I would only need the nokia in my pocket normally, I would leave the nokia behind and take the flac player into the gym, I would take the camera only when photos are necessary, and the garmin would just sit on my dashboard.

its stuff from 20 years ago btw, could have been another watch
>>
>>107896300
Gshocks don't break but their straps can, luckily you can just buy another strap.
>>
>>107896271
>forget walkman on the way to the gym
using a phone for everything solves that problem
>>
>>107895970
Literally all you need is either:
iPhone with 18.7.3
Pixel 10 with GrapheneOS
and MAYBE a laptop with either WIndows 11 IoT LTSC or Troonix Mint/Gentoo/CuckBSD
That's it, everything else is this weird autism larp or luddism or inability to let go of the past.
Watches/music players/cameras/garmin gps, etc are all redundant.
>>
>>107896309
that soulnds like a challenge
and im naturally gifted at breaking things

once i even broke a dumbphone's screen with my bony ass
'wasnt a 3310 though. it was a lesser nokia
>>
>>107896314
I don't want to, I want wired headphones and a dedicated device that isn't connected to the internet.
>>
>>107896334
a dumbphone gives you that
as per the picrel, btw
fuck the smartphone shit
can you even use them without registering to some stupid accoutn?
>>
>>107896334
>NOOOO I CAN'T BE CONNECTED TO THE DEVILNET THEY MIGHT SEE WHAT MUSIC I LISTEN TO
really though. privacy faggots are too much. 8 billion retards on the planet and a little who thinks he's so important world governments and hackers care that he listens to Talyor Swift when he dances around his living room in his mommy's dresses
>>
>>107896243
>>107896263
hmmm...well the idea is that they'd at least wear out more slowly, and if one does break, it's just that one thing you lose instead of everything, and the single-purpose tools would ideally be better at their job than the multi-purpose tool with less distractions or whatever. maybe cost less(?). losing or breaking your phone is probably really annoying, since it is relied on for several tasks.
>>
>>107896378
>maybe cost less(?)
nah
you get a watch and an mp3 in your dumbphone already
thats just redundant costs
unless youre going for the absolute cheapest shit you find on the market.
dont do that btw. give 50 for a nokia, i had a danew i bought for 10 bucks with a truly abysmal menu (but it held charge for 2-3 weeks, i loved that thing) and now i have a shitsung that turns off when charge gets to 100%
neither have mp.3 btw.

>A watch is just better than looking at your phone.
nop. equivalent at best

i can have a fancy pre installed wallpaper on my dumbphone
>>
>>107896564
>nop. equivalent at best
Not him but that's something only a person who has never worn a watch would say. Anyone else would see the benefit immediately. You could check the time 15 times in the interval it takes to check it from your phone. Not to mention that it's hands free, visible from many different angles without pressing any buttons and the battery lasts for years instead of hours. I hardly ever take my watch off even while sleeping and whenever I want to see the time (or date) I immediately check my wrist instinctively.
>>
>>107896564
You can't look at it without looking like an asshole, you can discreetly glance at a watch. You can also check your watch with something in your hands already.
>>
>>107896682
>You can't look at it without looking like an asshole
'depends on the situation.
in a business setting everyone has their phones on the table
also looking at the time wont make things feel shorter.
to the contrary

i never had this issue. must be a burger thing.
even when i visit my family, when i have time constraints i look at my phone and nobody makes a fuss about that
i keep it in my pocket though. putting a phone on the table in a familial setting IS impolite

doesnt even need to be proper expensive, just needs to look like it is

Just keep in mind that """swiss""" watches that are in that price range are 40% made in china. "Swiss made" regulations dictate that only 60% of the parts need to be actually made in switzerland. Swatch group is the biggest culprit.
>>
>>107897206

if you don't ditch the smartphone AND the computer, trying to embrace single-purpose devices is useless.

It can be good for camping or being in the middle of nowhere for long periods, but you can also get Garmin smartwatches with GPS that will last for multiple days straight. I think some newer Casios also have satellite SOS built in now too but it's been a long time since I've bought a new watch.

>>107896280
NTA but I fucked up a g-shock when I was a kid, but I probably really put it through stress with shit like climbing trees, falling off my bike, knocking it against walls etc but it lasted a good amount of years through all that. I found it again last year and half the buttons were missing and the screen is scratched to shit, but it might power on if I got a new battery put in.

no, they dont
for starters you wont shove 8 gigs of ram into a dumbphone
