I've got a shitload of media spread across many different hard drives and I want to consolidate, but I'm paranoid of getting a single massive hard drive in case it fails on meWhat should I do? I'm sick of splitting between multiple drives
>>107905396Get 3-2-1 NAS3 NAS with RAID5, 2 in your place, 1 offsite (parents)
>>107905396Buy two massive HDDs and make a duplicateI feel you, brother. I'm currently switching around a bunch of my PC hardware and setting up a home server with a used low-power optiplex I got for cheap. I have two 8TB drives that are more than enough for what I need. I'm gonna put one in the server PC and backup all the random data from various PCs, craptops, USB sticks, etc I have laying around that I never use. Then I think I'm going to move the other HDD to my backup PC I keep in the living room. Ideally I'll set that one up to automatically sync with the data on the server drive but I'll have to figure out how to do that. I'm tired of everything being so disorganized and all over the place.
>>107905396If you are paranoid, definitely get 2 drives and have them RAID1.
>>107905416he doesn't know who his parents are though.
>>107905416>1 offsite (parents)Based and backuppilled.
>offsite30cm away from the cumstation, got it
>>107905463>back up crypto wallet with 10 bitcoin>store at parents house>60 year old boomer mom doesn't know what it is>throws it away while "decluttering"why would you do this?
>>107905396huh you don't need to destroy and delete the old drives if you put all the stuff on a new one you know lol
>>107905628...wutWhen did I say destroy and delete lmaoI just mean I have 6 different HDDs and I want to put all their files onto one drive, but I'm worried about it failing
