I got me a MECHEN M30 for Christmas.
It has A LOT OF POWER for its size, and a loooong battery autonomy, which was what I preferred over screens or android, I wanted a DUMB device with big battery. It decodes FLAC finely but 320MP3 allows for about 50% more battery and I am satisfied with 320MP3

So I paired it with Tanchjim Bunny IEMs, which have amazing clarity, definition, separation of instruments, NO SIBILANCE and good punchy bass in a balanced way.

Nothing to do with the crispy bright and well defined POPCORN (10USD) IEMs I got in Mexico which have Ear Drum Stabbing Sibilance.

The Bunny Ears are SUPERB for any genre, impeccable for Instrumental, Opera, Symphonic stuff, Jazz, and if you are in a silent environment you can appreciate the Bass definition as well in more electronic genres...

Yet... I was a raver in my teens and early 20s, I LOVE deep bass in GOA Psytrance, and Fullon.

For stuff like Shpongle, or Mode Selektor, or Telefon Telaviv, or 1200 Mics, I wanted a new option with deeper bass at lower volumes.

I almost went for a CASTOR PRO BASS EDITION, but someone recommended KZ DECET as the same thing with a little extra drivers... and it seems like what I was looking for at under 25USD.

I just ordered them, I hope they fill that niche of warm easy listening Rock-Electronica.
I will still use Bunny ears 75% of the time, I love its clarity for acoustic, vocals, female minimalist stuff like Sabrina Claudio, or Bjork, or Caetano Veloso, they are like studio level cleanliness.

These DECET IEMs will be my electronic, or lazy comfort warm sound system for vibrant tunes.

I hope they perform great at low volume, I expect some distortion at high volumes due to the small space, the pressure and all that, but I am satisfied with low to medium volume.

What are your experience with Dynamic Drivers vs Planar when it comes to Bass IEMs?

What is your experience with Bass IEMs in general?

Have you tried DECET by KZ?

Friend, I love you but. This is the brownest post I’ve read on /g/ so far this year 2026 of our Lord and Savior
Just look at graphs my guy. Or look at the recs.
EDC Pro is cheap af and has lots of stinky bass overall but v-shaped.
GK Kunten has bass too probably enough for most folks.
Besides that? Just EQ my man. The bandwidth on virtually any POS allows for more clean bass than anyone could possibly need. Literally take any $5 POS and EQ it to perfection(warning: treble past 5khz may have to be done by ear due to resonance peaks and general shifts)

Thank you.

What is the Piece Of Shit you talk about? Like a Equalizer DAC, or something like that?
I use the stock Mechen M30 equalizer to lower 8-5khz to reduce sibilance, usually Techno and Classical does that while rising the bass a bit, it works on the Bunny, but I wanted something with more pressure and more vibrant.

So instead of buying IEMs we should be buying Equalizer DACs or something?

After the Kz DECET on top of Bunny Tanchjims, I must only equalize? No more IEMs?

Are more than 2 IEMS just hoarding without purpose?

Upgrade to 3.5 for lower noise floor and output impedance.
>>
>>107941527
if you have access to PEQ it’s by far your best bet to get whatever sound you’re looking for.
>>
>>107942149
I use it as a desktop dac/amp lol
>>107942159
Probably would make sense to use the less powerful output for my IEMs
Idk the Qud isn't the best in any case, but I don't think upgrading is important.
Whenever I watch some YouTuber who shills expensive dacs and headphones the music taste they're so eager to show off is like, random artless synth pop from Bandcamp and overproduced ambient jazz with a ton of digital reverb. It's made me realize that music enjoyment and equipment enjoyment are completely different things. My favourite way of listening to music is listening to vinyl that, after the phono stage, goes through the cheapest AliExpress passive pre-amp I could find into a cheap balanced tube hybrid amp into an IEMatch4.4 and then into a two meters long balanced cable. And I literally hear no background noise. What matters to me are things that affect preference, so like sibilance, inner groove distortion, etc. That's why my record player and stylus are the most expensive components of the chain.
>>
>>107942255

Explain?
>>
>>107941527
dont listen too much to advice on here. at least get advice from more balanced spaces too
>>
>>107942286
I don't even use the PEQ anymore. All this device does is produce an audio signal with a variable volume and channel balance. I'd also like to say the spl calculation is nice, but I won't, because I don't trust it. If I bought a dac today it wouldn't be this one, but back then this was a good option for me, and it's still very fine.
>>
>>107942106
I TAKE IT BACK

The History of Digital Audio

>sony uses 44/16 pcm for their vhs tape recorders and later CD
>people realize running dac chips at a higher frequency sounds smoother and that 44/16 is a compromise
>sigma-delta chips oversample using 1bit cuz less computationally intensive and lower power in spec sheets, new chips every year
>sacd was going to be 96khz
>pcm chips are on their way out
>because oversampling is close enough to highres, sacd instead uses/develops DSD (direct stream digital) to bypass oversampling in the oversampling chips by having the format be the same 1bit oversampled signal
>MSB pipes pcm into resistors, sells for $3000, nobody else figures this out for 15 years

>>107944336
any 2nd order harmonic distortion isn't gonna put a dent in the average bright pos
>>
>>107944352
bright pos is an FR problem and harmonic distortion doesn’t fix that. all it does is smear transients and raises the noise floor. any amount of harmonic distortion is literally new signal added. if it’s inaudible, it’s pointless.
if it’s audible, it’s coloration. pick one.
>2nd order harmonic distortion isn't gonna put a dent.
so the tube amp is doing nothing? why defend it then?

>>107943974

you seem confused. a tube, with a power supply, amplifies a signal. it's cost effective and has a different distortion profile compared to solid state. instead of odd-order distortion it's even-order. in both cases it's negligible
>>

I’m not confused.. even-order vs odd-order doesn’t change the logic. if it's audible it's coloration but if it's not, it's pointless. I’m not interested

There's no harman tuning. Harman decides the tuning according to the target audience. Young? more bass. Old fart? less bass and so on. And depending on the methodology, it'll be a tilt like in the 2025 study.

Specifically the upper mids in relation to the lower mids is the “shout” phenomenon.
First and foremost….make sure you’re getting a good seal. Any POS with a bad seal will automatically be shouty.
secondly…your problem area may be the lower mids (400-800hz) and the transition to upper mids is a little rough and could be EQ’d down a bit with a shelf filter

Hip Hop uses deep bass like Psytrance, right?
Or do you mean nigger as in "ghetto-bad" instead of musically? Is it as bad as Beats by Dr Beer?

I just want this second set for Electronica, Psytrance and some stuff like Gregorian Chants in caverns.

Anything under $100 with serviceable ANC, good audio quality, good battery life, an app that isn't shit and a stemless design?

Currently have the Soundpeats Capsule 3 Pro+ and audio quality is fantastic but that's about it. Their app doesn't fucking work half the time and on top of that it needs you to register an account to use it. ANC was kind of a letdown but I was using XF-1000 XM4 before these so I might just have unrealistic expectations considering the price bracket. Not a fan of the stem either and the battery isn't that good.

I know man, but I need something that uses bluetooth specifically because UAC enumeration shit on the phone. It keeps detecting my wired webcam as a composite UAC+UVC device and fucks up both the DAC and the mic connected to it. I think maybe bluetooth will solve this but I ain’t spending the money on bluetooth POS unless it sounds decently good.

1. Take full advantage of planar magic, cvj luki
2. You can listen to Moondrop Stellaris and TRN ST7
3. Attain perfection on your PEQ'd $5 shitbud, why buy anything else?
4. Fight back against chinks using Harm Man as acoustic weaponry

Guys, i lost my hearing on one side. So now i'm looking for iem that don't seal so i can wear it and still hear my surrounding when i'm in public. Similar to pic related that i owned as a teenager when i drove to school with my bike and had to hear the traffic. They were terrible though as the bass was way too loud. Right now i'm using Sennheiser IE200 and i'm quite happy with them. Also owned some Creative Aurvana In-Ear3 i liked.
What are some more neutral iem similar to the Bose ones i could try?

So…EQing by ear has been a resounding success. Only thing that’s weird is how this POS(Artti R6)on graphs shows a MASSIVE 6khz dip but in practice? it’s actually a peak. I’m assuming my ear canal resonance is right at around 6khz because starting at like 7.1khz was a huge dip that I EQ’d out.
They sound amazing but if I was to graph them it’d probably look like ass

Well, it was $8 but not bad. Similar to Salnotes zero but slightly brighter tuning.

Longer tips fixed the lack of bass, but the treble is a bit much. Great sound quality but I am a little nervous about listening to this one for long periods of time. It's not as bad as the Q1 Pro in this regard.

The 7hz Zero is a lot more relaxed and the treble doesn't drown out the mids.

Spent this afternoon listening and meticulously comparing my EO-IA500 to my Simgot EA 500LM and Tanchjim Origin. Honestly feeling a deep sense of remorse, that in the past I had so naively fooled myself into thinking I now 'knew' what true high fidelity playback was with my Tanchjim Origins (I suspect much of the reason I thought they sounded above average was because of price). There simply is no competition between these 3; In terms of creating the most spacious soundstage, rendering the most natural treble decay, and providing the most realistic bass slam, the EO-IA500 wins without a doubt in my mind. I really do feel so stupid for paying so much for, now that I've had to return to it for this analysis, sound that was never decent to begin with, but I can't help but smile at the fact that the best iem of 2026, maybe even my lifetime, is merely $12. Alright I gotta go, need to start selling my Origins and EA 500LM.

Because the chinks have to deal with BT. Currently no amount of sorcery will achieve anything higher than 24 bit/192 kHz over BT . And that is if you have LHDC 5.0 support on your phone or receiving bt device. If the chinks figure out how to do this while also making a somewhat reliable device, they will win not just the earhook market, but also the entire twshitter sphere. I still wouldn’t switch though unless they also gave us a strong mic with those, or water protection.

Ok so after tweaking my EQ profile a little more for my own ear anatomy I almost have complete ruler flat treble from 1khz-16khz(cutoff of my hearing). This is just another reason why deafzos can never actually truly be part of this hobby and community. Because to actually EQ right...you need to have an ear.
>inb4 deafzo
Ya if you graphed my POS with this EQ profile it'd probably look like trash. But I have a 6.1khz canal resonance like you wouldn't believe which shifts the treble hence why you need to not be deaf in order to actually achieve good sound.

Hello /g/entlemen,
You guys seem to know a lot about IEMs and frequencies, and I’m really impressed! I need your help. I’ve always preferred a flat sound signature. My first monitors were the PreSonus Eris 4.5, which I liked, but I wasn’t fully satisfied. I sold them and upgraded to the PreSonus Eris E5, but I didn’t like them as much. So, I sold those as well and bought my first pair of IEMs, the ER2XR. The sound was amazing, but after long listening sessions, my ears started to get uncomfortable, and eventually, one of the IEMs became quieter than the other. I tried cleaning them and changing the filters, but the issue persisted, so I decided to sell them. The guy who bought them didn’t notice the difference in volume (⊙_). Guess I was lucky! After selling the ER2XRs, I decided to go back to monitors and bought the Edifier MR4s instead of getting another pair of IEMs. (I wear earplugs at night, and my ears tend to feel soggy in the morning.) I’m currently using the MR4s with an EQ I found on a forum, and I’m satisfied, but I’d really like to spend more time outdoors. I enjoy walking, and I’m looking for a nice pair of IEMs to accompany me during my walks. Here’s the catch: I don’t know much about IEMs, so I’m reaching out for recommendations. I’m specifically looking for flat-sounding IEMs, with a budget of around 60€. I hope you enjoyed my little story, and I look forward to your recommendations!
Sincerely,
Anon

>smooth nozzle
You won't be able to do much without mods. If the nozzle or the internal tube of the tip is oily, cleaning it can help improve your grip, but this issue will likely happen again sooner or later.Try selling it and purchasing pos that have a ridge or lip on the nozzle to keep the ear tips securely in place.

I haven't used mine in a bit, but this has never happened to me with them even though they have a smooth nozzle.
How old are the tips? in my experience, iem tips will stretch and then they're held on entirely by friction they'll eventually just not hold on tight enough to prevent them from slipping off. i'd recommend new tips if they are old. I also take off my tips when I'm storing IEMs for an extended period from this.
I would also recommend you try cleaning the nozzle with isopropyl alcohol, be careful to not let the isoprpyl go inside, so put it on a paper towel and hold it in a way where gravity prevents any from sliding down the holes until it dries (should only be a few seconds) but it should clean the oils and grease well enough that has built up on them. You can also clean the tips but unless it damages the material, which is variable so I'm not even going to guess, you have to be less careful just make sure they're dry before reattaching of course.

wheres the gaming headset guide?

The guide is to avoid them. Any IEM with a mic cable will do the job. Earbuds if the occlusion effect bothers you when you talk.
