started using mpv as my image viewer and its a pretty nice expeience after having set up the profiles and input sections. my only gripes are that it' somewhat slow and ram-heavy compared to a standalone image view, and that wayland won't allow the window to remain centered when opening new files so i've had to relegate it to the top-left corner of my screen if i dont want large images spilling onto my second monitor. otherwise being able to browse my pic folders with mixed images/webm etc with ease is very satisfying.
