I've been watching videos on how to extract gold from electronics for a couple months now but none of them tip you off to what electronics to look out for specifically. I just need like a quarter ounce maybe 2/3 troy ounce at most. I want to propose to my girlfriend, and am planning to make a ring for her from scrap products, long story short she's super into recycling and other lib-shit. I already polished various color scrap glasses for the "stones", and I just need the recycled gold to finish the project, so what scrap/trash electronics am I gonna need to look out for to get the gold from?

>>107953133You're looking for interfaces between high-speed tech. The teeth on PCIE cards, SIM slots etc. Those are usually gold plated. Even RAM, but you're better off selling that intact at the moment.

>>107954104Pretty much this, all kinds of interfaces and plugs. There are gold bond wires in chips but they're all encased in epoxy resin which is a fucking pain to remove. All gold plated contacts are right there, just have to dissolve the gold with aqua regia. Note you will get every metal there is in there and you'll have to purify it so it might not be even worth it if you have to take into account all the chemicals involved. Gold is expensive now though so it might be worth it, haven't run the math.
