Anons, should I learn a second keyboard layout? I only know Dvorak, and it gets frustrating that so many things support Qwerty but not Dvorak.
>>107975459Qwerty is the standard, so yes. It's ez, won't take much time at all.
Lmao at getting scammed by RAMA in 2022.
In less than 3 years, Geon made the hobby great again. No more foamslop, no more majority 60% nonsense designs.Even tactiles/clickies are more mainstream now, especially Gateron doing the heavy lifting with Type Rs, Melodics and Lanes.Fucking impressive show all around.
Geon helped with refunds on time, kept clear and consistent comms with the public with his initial misses. He revived enthusiasts' faith in the hobby and he doesn't miss at all now.He learned fast and he took 'git gud' to heart.Nevermind keyboards, he helped with the democratization of GMK sets. Just look at the Evil Dolch kittings, it has something for literally everyone.Fast turnaround, <$100 GMK sets, proper supply so there's no scalping or FOMO.All that in such a short span of time. It's justified to love that man and his team to bits <3
I didn't even mention his RAW series of switches or him being the major vendor for unlubed MX2As which helped Cherry become great again as well.HE IS GODLIKE AND I LOVE HIMI LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM SO SO MUCHMòran taing, laddie

>>107974485how do people even survive with anything smaller than a tkl?games are unplayable, typing is hell (you're forced to go full troonix where you need to memorize a trillion of combo keys)tkl already hard to accept, the numpad can be extensively usedbut literally what's even the POINT of anything smaller than a tkl?i don't get it
>>107976766Some people are just really good at getting by with macros. Couldn't be me!
>>107974715Typing on them (R4) right now because I'm breaking them in before lubing* for a friend's board. I'm not a linears guy but they really are great switches. The feel and sound when you hit your stride on a long monkeytype is so satisfying.*They have a pretty light lubing already, a bit of oil on the legs and the spring seems lightly greased at the bottom; but I notice they tend to develop spring crunch over the first week of use so my aim is to use them for a solid month or so and then give the springs a slightly more generous 105 bag lube, lightly oil the stem rails, and donut-dip the springs with a more generous quantity of 205g0 at the bottoms to hopefully prevent that crunch from re-emerging. I tried that on one switch and it feels and sounds pretty good so far.
>>107976627I see you BaionI wrote nothing but FACTS and LOGICzero homosexuality or femboy-ismcredit where it is dueGeon restored the community's faith in GBs and preorders, made TKLs great again, banished foamslop like Mr Suit, gave us cheaper and diverse GMK sets, gave us new switches from different brands ALL AT ONCE, revived Cherry love via unlubed MX2As, and all of this in less than THREE YEARS.It's one monumental achievement after another and I'm gonna say it loud and proud.Geonfuck yeah
>>107976824Oil > grease for lubed spring longevity.Go ham with Krytox 107 for your friend.Bag lube those boiiingy springs
>>107976874107 sounds interesting. 3x more viscous than 105? Yet I never hear anybody mention it.I suppose your personal experience is as valuable as anyone else's; if you really swear by it I'll order some right now.
>>107974485I recently built my first keyboard (60%) with some jade switches. I like how clicky they sound but I am wondering if theres anything clickier?
>>107977112zealpc clickiez
>>107977062F the mainstream.Go off the beaten path and you'll find all sorts of good things.
>>107977112Gat Melodics if zeals are unavailable or something
>>107977175Ok sure, but you gotta really swear by the stuff or I'm not gonna spend the money. I need to hear "bag lubing with 107 saved my life"
>>107974485Need a new keyboard mine is broken. I play bideo games so what do i get that isnt putting too much money into (((their))) pockets but is also good for the price. I want magnetic switches, whatever that means
>>107977389Look at Madlions for cheap hall effect keyboards, the vast majority of a HE or other magnetic keyboard's workings is in the special sauce behind its firmware. If you feel the need to spite somebody with your purchase, going Madlions will spite Wooting, one of the first companies to have a HE keyboard out on the market, by being a shameless copy of its design for the Brazilian market (it legitimately would have cost more to import HE keyboards than it would have to set up their own production on their own keyboards) and having "close enough" software support
>>107977389not that many jews in the keyboard industry as far as I can tell
>>107977503>>107977509I was looking around and the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro is $100. I dont really care about the brand but this is a fine price for what i can assume is a fine keyboard, or am i wrong?
>>107977539Keychron K10 HE Is also priced similarly and is full size. I like this one a bit more since it has no lights, thoughts?
>>107977554Keychron is a pretty reliable brandDon't go Razer if you ever want keycap compatibility, they're cunts and typically change the size of their spacebars from standard, meaning you have to pay extra on a spacebars kit (if the set even has that option) just for compatibility with your green gamer keyboard
>>107977580Thanks i went with that instead.
Can't see shit on the mods
>>107977286bag lubing with 107 saved my life
>>107977389kafka is the first HE keyboard I've heard that doesn't sound like shithttps://youtu.be/sNkmanZyf5A?t=5998
>>107977662Ok I'm sold, but so far every vendor I can find that has this in any size under a $300 tub is located in either Singapore or Korea. Locally I can find 106, but not 107.If you ran out today, you would have another jar of it shipped across the Pacific from Singapore? No cap?>>107977664My Typface is a great keyboard. (Monospace)Highly recommend.
MT3 profile yes/no? i hate the standard gmk font on what feels like every set and drop has some nice sets
>>107979059MT3 profile is great. Only bad thing about it is it being owned by drop.
>>107979059MT3 is a dead profile.Man up and get MTNU.Or double man up and become a CYL enjoyer.
>>107978440106 will do the job just fine then. There's always 205g0 to fall back on.
>>107979059Excellent profile especially with its PBT setsExpensive as fucking hell for what it actually is and I recommend buying sets that are either on sale or while during a BOGO sale (Drop runs these fairly frequently)If you're a cheapskate, look at Keychron's KSA keycaps
saw that keychron is doing sale on their q series if anybody is interested.
>>107979149Looks comfy as heck to type on
They should have done it this way in the first place, but the Ultimate Hacking Keyboard has an 80% (actually 75%) layout now. Also it's still over $400.
>>107979265It is quite comfy. I really like dygma as a company but they are super pricey. I got mine second hand in the months leading up to their 2nd gen launch. You can find good deals sometimes on ebay.
>>107979059MT3 is my personal favorite. If you're on the fence about it, I recommend just waiting and keeping an eye on prices and you can get a base kit on sale for ~$40
>>107979446I bought /dev/tty as my first set and I think I'll legitimately have it for a lifetime, perfect profile and its 9009 color-scheme goes on basically any keyboard.
>>107979459Yeah, I'd probably be using basic bitch WoB with this board if I could but there is no spacebar kit for it.
>>107979446biuriful
>Akko/HMX Mirror that far high up>Lanes and Melodics above Type R>Lucy represented>KS-3 at topquite a based list but that Mirror is surprising. No one talks about it
Geon only
fullsize = pro trans
>>107974485I got a keychhron v6 max that arrived already with sticky/double-tapping keys and has only gotten worse. I was hoping it'd just be annoying until I got some new switches because wile I should have gotten a refund I didn't want to spend 2 months doing the RMA dance, it's actuall yjust gotten worse and is probably a pcb issue and not a switch one.So wat's a good non-Keychhron full-size (knob optional) under $200?
Cherry MX Petals having mx brown bump but just a tiny bit sharper sounds really neat, shame I can't justify buying more switches
>>107980989No one's holding you back lolyou can sell off your extras later if you want todon't cuck yourself over muh justification
>>107980811Tofu/Neo/QK/Classic TKL. Take your pick
And forget full size, just get a separate numpad.
>>107980811Have you tried changing the QMK firmware to use a different debounce algorithm?
>>107981010I mean I cannot justify it to myself, to my own faculty of reason, to the sovereign mind that judges and decides, and must occasionally restrain the appetites for the benefit of the whole man.
>>107981044I have not but will do that first before committing to >>107981021, though idk if that'll address eys outright not registering vs the ones that stick.
>>107981074Hmm that does sound bad. Is that with the switches it came with? And does your computer have severe slowdowns generally or no? (I tried plugging my Keychron into a slow old laptop once, did not work well.)
>>107981090Yeah it's with the original switches, I have some replacements in the mail at the moment since I can always reuse them on a new board too.As for slowdowns, I don't tend to have them, no. MQy computer is getting long in the tooth now but it's a upper-mid range build from the end of DDR4
>>107981171Sounds defective to me then. But you could just get another Keychron. Some % of units are going to be defective, that doesn't mean all the other ones are. Mine wasn't.
>>107981060That's commendable, but you can still sell your extras anytime you want.
>>107979107I ordered the 107 from Singapore.
Kinda tempted to get this PC variant to house my lychee raw silent tactiles. They're such wonderful switches, they were made to go on a PC board.
Are phones gonna be affected by the RAM shortages massively?I don't think I can upgrade this year but I don't want to be fucked if I wait until next year

I ordered a topre keyboard but there's something I didn't think about.can you use a keycap puller, for mechanical keyboards, on topre rubber dome keyboard keycaps?
>>107981362most likely yes they are
>>107984231Idk
>>107981209That GB is finished
>>107984998I still have the opportunity to get that one, thanks to my vendor.
>>107981209I thought about doing the same thing but didn't pull the trigger because I'm not crazy about TKL. I say do it.
>>107983310let me see the Ñ

I'm not opposed to trying out different switches/brands but I felt that the cherry mx reds were a bit too easy to actuate when I tried them long ago.
>>107989245>>107981021Same advice.

MX Blaecks
anyone know what board and caps these might be?
https://www.melgeek.com/products/melgeek-modern97-f-work-game-compact-mechanical-keyboardHow bad is Melgeek? Hotswap 96% for $54, comes with Kailh switches. I know the styling's not for everyone but I always kinda liked the look of this one, other than that hideous gamer bottom. Shame that the keycaps don't have a non-accent option (would be three extra keycaps) because I actually like the look they went for with those double shots.
>>107990515You know what you're getting for $54, it's okay.
>>107990515No qmk/via no buy.
>>107990515for the money it'll be a-okexpect bullshit software and poor bluetooth connectivity, but that's why god gave us USBI've bought keycap sets more expensive than that board before
>>107977389Have you try to fix your keyboard? I guess you have a mechanical keyboard with switches?I had a mechanical keyboard too, i fucked up sone switches so they stop doing the clicly sound so i end up buying a basic kit of electronic soldering to change those switches for switches from keys i barely use like F11, F12, etc,and it worked.Since then i have fixed a lot electronic stuff. Pic related im fixing for eleven time my mouse bought in 2019.Fuck programmed obsolescence.Fuck jews.Remember:If you don't fix it the jews will win.
>>107990852your keyboard is 4 decades old.>planned obsolescencelol
>pull apart an older keyboard to replace its stabilizers and slap /dev/tty onto it>keycap set has a warped spacebar for some reason, don't remember having a warped spacebar>don't feel like fucking about with hot water or a hair-dryer to reshape it>spacebar replacement in a kit of 6 is $12 and comes with a "flat" version if I feel so inclinedDrop wins again, I guess. The one thing they sell that doesn't make me want to reach for a rape whistle on its pricing.
