Why are all the skins for plasma so fucking ugly?
You will never be a real desktop environment. You are unstable, you crash, you look hideous. You are a jeet-coded abomination twisted by inconsistencies and crashes into a crude mockery of microsoft's windows. All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Devs are disgusted and ashamed of you, other DE users laugh at your ghoulish appearance in desktop threads. Normies are utterly repulsed by you. Decades of Windows usage have allowed them to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even themed KDE looks uncanny and unnatural to a normie. Your crashes are a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk normie to use you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your crashes, infected code-base. You will never be a real DE. You wrench out a fake boot every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the crashes creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight. Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they now have a free computer where they can install GNOME and no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment.
>>107982987seriously though, why the fuck does kde krash so much
>>107983350qt is unstable trash and c++ bloat
>>107982533Computer nerds are bad at art.
>>107987903And yet, back in the kde 3.5 days, a lot of people switched to Linux solely because of how pretty kde was back then.
>default breeze theme with tokyo night colorsJust werks, anon
>>107982533No one with taste can be bothered to make them. Also the women and tr00ns at KDE on the marketing site are inept at building a proper "app store" for the various plugins.
>>107982987>heartbroken but relieved that they now have a free computer where they can install GNOMEI will admit this made me chuckle.
>>107988092>back in the kde 3.5 daysdamn, kde used to look real good. time hasnt treated this one right.>>107988326one of their biggest offender is certainly their theme "store", it is so shit, they really expected you to use that slow, bug infested crap to apply a theme or icon pack.
>>107983350Post beef.
>>107982533It's designed for "humans" with ugly skins.
>>107982533LXQt fucking won
>>107982533Just use Gnome>>107982987Nice
>>107992442>Just use GnomeNo problem, just let me sort my drives real quick....OH NONONONONONO
>>107992573Not a argument. Nothing to do with a DE's appearance.
>>107982533there is no art dev into linux
>>107987903>>107992741you mean design, right? anyway OP, the other day someone shared a site on why kde looks bad, ill see if i find it, but it all boils down to inconsistencies.
>>107982533Because everyone only ever makes flat themes which are just color pallete swaps of the same two themes.
>>107982533Making a theme takes a lot of work and most people aren't willing to do it for free. I think Plasma's theming options are basically pointless, as much as I like customization.
So which DE's actually do look good?
