No I've been on W11 since the launch and except for my wifi drivers messing up once years ago I've had no issues what so over.
Also europoor so no ads or pushed crap in terms of experience.
I'm pretty much the most hated type of person on /g/, I don't code, I hate Linux (tried multiple distros, they suck ass) and I don't really give a shit about the issues people are having since they don't bother me personally.
>>
>>107985561
sticking with windows 10 as long as possible, then I'll bite whatever bullet I have to bite and just use linux
I already fully switched for gaming
it's weird how gaming on linux was sorted before general productivity. thanks, valve

yeah of course. I'm still on W10 22H2 Education. It's actually comfy when you don't have to worry about updates anymore. I just keep my browser updated and don't do retarded stuff. Also don't do sensitive, personal or finance stuff in there, that's what my phone is for.
I didn't even activate the ESU. Fuck ms updating my shit.

Probably doing this too while I wait to see how (bad) W12 is. Microjeets won't be going anywhere, sadly.

I have a Windows 7 desktop PC and a Linux laptop, and I am holding out for Windows 12 to get a hot new good desktop that can run modern shit. If it turns out to be irredeemable cancer, which I accept is starting to look likely, I might get a Linux desktop and a Windows 12 (or even 11) laptop. I don't want to leave Windows behind completely, mostly because every job I apply for says, "Make sure you use Windows a lot so you can fix our office PCs!"

Macs are definitely the best computers at the moment; I used them in my old job and they're great. But if your work gets bought out by corporate yuppie women who only use Windows, like mine was, it's ogre for you.
>>
My secondary PC has Windows 10 on it and I keep it permanently offline now. I only use it for niche Windows-only tasks, compiling Windows executables and testing them natively on Windows.

I don't really have hope for 12, but I'll wait until key software no longer runs on 10 before using 11 LTSC depending on the landscape

Valve really lead the guard (Primarily by crowdsourcing WINE hacks), but you need to keep in mind that programming wise, most modern (Modern as in, anything made in the last 20 or so years) games pretty much do the same, if you do enough work to get a few working, you'll get most of them working. The issue with productivity software is that if you get, say, the right set of WINE hacks needed to run AutoCAD, these will JUST run AutoCAD, you can't just copy and paste them to get Photoshop working, or even something by the same company, like 3DSmax.

At this point you're more likely to be fucked by redmond while using windows 11 than windows 10.

I'll have to learn a bit of 12 because it's going to continue the clusterfuck that is 11 when I have to help my normie coworkers and friends that aren't autistic enough to troubleshoot and solve something that shouldn't be broken in the first place.
Seriously, how many different "Settings" menus do you need in your OS?

I am on W10 IoT Enterprise LTSC right now, and I am seriously considering going back to 7 or perhaps 8.1 since I don't really need Windows for much.
>>
>>107988170
If you ignore everything wrong with it, 8 sure was a good OS
>>
>>107985561

We have been in the Vista phase since Windows 8 because Windows has been getting progressively worse for nearly 15 years. Based on Microsoft's current plans, there is no doubt that Windows 12 will be the biggest piece of crap yet. Microsoft simply makes too much money from Azure to give a shit about creating decent desktop operating systems.

I was never going to be a 10 holdout because I never even liked 10. The only reason I even switched to 10 is because Linux just wasn't ready for me at the time; Linux is fucking incredible now though and installing it has completely reversed the enshittification. I just don't see the point of holding out on Windows 10.

How was Windows 10 based with all the hardcoded spyware and gutting of the Control Panel?
>>
>>107989799
As much as I'd love to cope with this logic, windows 10 was by no means "based" nor "good". Not when it came out, and not now by the end of its life. Windows 10 is slop smeared on top of what was an acceptable OS, windows 7. It's just that Windows 11 is pure unadultered slop by comparison.
Microsoft has been shit for almost two decades now with no sign of recovering soon.
>>
Everybody in this thread is retarded, thinking these marketing names have any meaning at all. Thinking windows 10 1507 and 22h2 are the even remotely comparable or that windows 10 22h2 and 11 22h2 are completely different.

Windows 10 was supposed to be the last version since it turned into windows as a service with semi annual releases. The only reason they renamed it to 11 was to be able to drop support for older hardware have better system integrity. Nothing really changed in how the windows service was and still is evolving since 2015.
>>
>>107989202
People shit on the Linux terminal, but for the few older relatives I've managed to convince to install Mint, telling them "Press Ctrl+Alt+T, when a black box appears, write [Commands that fix their issue] and press enter", is way easier than navigating sub-menus via what you're told on a phone call
