Fucking hell why. Vinyl records I understand. CDs I understand. But this? Why?
>>
VHS is gay, DVD is literally better.
>>
>>107988194
I will be buying it to move all my families VHS recordings to digital format which I will then post to the cloud for global access and eternal availability
>>
>>107988194
i may be interested in the vcr honestly
>>
>>107988273
fat 3d pig women are mass buying crt+vcr's. I have no idea why i just assume it's related to tiktok like all strange consumerism behaviors are now. In my town alone there are about 15 wanted adds, 12 being women who want one with a vcr.
Maybe this shit product will satisfy their retarded larping enough to deflate crts again
>>
>>107988194
No, I already have a VCR. I mostly use it as a single source to run my old consoles into then into the TV.
>>
>>107988194
I haven't used a bluray or dvd player in over 5 years now. I get some ppl are into the nostalgia of this, but ffs.
>>
>>107988273
If it's an actual CRT and not an LCD in a "muh retro vibes" shell, it'd be a good screen for playing old 8- and 16-bit era games on. Also for watching old shit-quality videos since CRTs make those feel more detailed than they are.

Lots of 30yr+ people have TONS of CDs still.
I've been asked before by girls to help them digitize their CD collections.
Too bad 35yr old single white women are absolutely BURNT.
>>
>>107988273
Nostalgia plus I think a lot of people just want more tactility in their tech.
>>
>>107988194
>new
Is this one of those fake CRTs?
>>
>>107988194
How?
Crts and vcrs are not produced anymore
>>
>>107990375
It's not a CRT, that's how.
>>
There are multiple threads posted daily glazing the fuck out of CRTs. Why are you suddenly acting surprised that there's a market for something resembling one? Does retarded nostalgia yearning suddenly stop being "based" when it's not a 4chan user of questionable gender identity ritualposting about it?
>>
>>107988273
If it's genuine CRT and has AV inputs, that's already excellent for technical reasons.
Form factor is also of interest. If it's small enough, it's great for on a desk or small table in your bedroom. I don't know of many modern TVs that have screen sizes less than 15".
>>
>>107988194
No. VHS is a dogshit storage media and it should stay dead.
>>
I bet any thing new with have integrated digital HD up scaling support with wifi Bluetooth connectivity or some shit and it’s basically consumerist nostalgia bait larping. Same thing you see in these modern record players with usb bluetooth streaming connectivity shit.

>A TV/VCR combo like the big brands used to make
>LCD instead of CRT, and with HDMI as well as analog connections
>$399 for early birds, assuming it launches to plan
>LCD
>>
>>107991316
>it's LCD
Fucking dropped. I could just 3D print a CRT box and put a portable monitor inside it if I wanted an LCD.

>Vinyl records I understand
nobody understands this, and hasn't done so since the invention of the CD and the first digital recording systems from 45+ years ago. it's exactly the same faggotry as VHS. video on VHS is a compromise. audio stamped out on vinyl is a compromise. cassettes/8track etc. were a compromise. society realized this shit was a dead end in the nineteen fucking seventies. nobody wants to go back. but zoomies that never had to deal with this shit are fascinated by it. there's much money to be made via retards.

>>107991316
>he really expected it to be CRT
too expensive. there's one or two manufacturers left in the world that still make them but they do costly limited numbers, stuff like military, scientific etc... that sort of thing.
>>
>>107991325
Phosphor is lost tech at this point. I have a point plotter with a P15 phosphor I got from an old professor, Vincent Di Lollo. Decay to 0.1% luminance takes 50 microseconds, that's 0.05 milliseconds. Fastest tube ever created.
>>
>>107991451
There's some companies making CRTs but prices can be pretty shitty as it's a niche market and they tend to be made in very small numbers.
>>
>>107991451
>Phosphor is lost tech at this point
because someone isn't making something doesn't mean it's lost. if there was a demand for CRT tubes tomorrow we'd have corporations erecting factories in third world nations to churn them out in their millions by the end of the year.
>>
>>107991478
We should be thankful for tiktok women then

we should astroturf CRTs into existence by making it fashionable to tiktok women and then proceed to boost it in the algorithm by paying Indonesian bot farms to engage with it
>>
>>107988273
>>107988310
they want to make porn that doesn't leak itself to the internet
>>107991405
>it's exactly the same faggotry as VHS
vinyl survives way better
found a brand new boxed unused VHS player one time, tried about half a dozen old tapes before giving it up as a bad job. Its a fucking terrible format.
>>
>>107991941
Pretty based idea. I think given enough time, it'll probably happen naturally. Old stuff is always getting popular again lately.
