If software is proprietary it can't be encrypted. Windows "is encrypted" with bitlocker but the second somebody wanted the PC open, Microsoft just gave the keys.

Apple products "are private" and your "data is safe" but the second they match a File Hash Checksum that matches something that is against their opinions or their owners opinions, guys are on your door to arrest you.
