Yes, those are their premium models, the ones that earns the most profit per vehicle sold.

1) Americans can't afford those any more
2) Nobody wants Teslas in general, sales down 50-70% depending on the European country

Teslas are nice vehicles its just that nobody wants to pay the premium for electric cars. Especially now that oul prices are dropping and electricity prices are rising.

The entire schtick that sold the electric vehicle is being turned on its head. Most importantly the public has had enough of cate standards and basically any standard regulating the automotive industry. People want options when buying cars and not the same cars and trucks manufactured by 5 seperate companies.

Tesla is not part of xAI (although Teslas use grok etc) and its a publicly listed company. You can't go shutting down half their production just to enable handing over their facilities to a completely different company. No, you need to pretend that you are turning over the facilities to Optimus, which is part of Tesla, while actually using it for xAI, which isn't. Otherwise you'd be misusing unrelated companies, like making one purchase the corpse of a large loss-making website you overpaid for privately and dumping all your losses on them. And Elon would never.

the p/e ratio is insane for a trillion dollar company that is shrinking, he's giving up on cars and now he's restarting the grift with another pie in the sky idea.

Keep in mind that the Cybertruck gigafactory has an operating capacity of 125,000 Cybertrucks per year. The Cybertruck's been out for 2+ years and has sold less than 100k.

So they are manufacturing them at less than 40% capacity. Any car manufacturing plant has to manufacture at 90% or higher to turn a profit, due to thin margins and fixed overhead.

It's like a a cookie factory costing millions and only making 1 bag of cookies every year.

They'll shut down soon if they continue to sell at less than 1k a month.

He's been real quiet about most stuff after he was seen with that bruise at the White House and then subsequent exile from political circles.
>>
>>107999864
That's easy. The grift was that he turned a car company (subsidized by the government) into a tech company.
Basically the thirst for tech startup speculation applied to a car manufacturer. And just like with a lot of tech startup companies people were betting on market dominance and continuous breakthroughs etc etc... but ultimately it was a grift. You want people to keep investing by making promises and glitzing it up until the inevitable pop. By that time most that rode the initial wave of profit are out and into the next grift.

>All tech companies have this same P/E trajectory.
not at that size. nvidia's p/e ratio is "only" 47 compared to Tesla's 293.
you understand that means it takes 293 years for the company to earn what it's valued at?
for the stock price to become reasonable they have to 10x their profits and right now profit is going down.
>>
>>108001522
Don't forget that Tesla was entirely sold on the idea of the self driving car, and now other companies are catching up. Not saying it's sophisticated as Tesla yet, but almost every high end car can do the equivalent of Tesla's basic autopilot now.
