I encounter this a lot when I search for an image, download it and then upload it here on 4chan. Why, and how do you /gee/ nerds get around it?

Every image I download from Reddit is a .webp, so they are converting the user uploaded images. If 4chan really doesn’t want to use .webp it should just automatically convert the image to .png because of transparency support.

plenty of jpegs cant be uploaded, isk why. you can take a screenshot of any node in browser inspector, so you can reencode images like this without external tools. Works for webp as well
Okay you know what I think it is? I think your browser is blocking it because you're dragging it in right? Manually click the Choose File button and select an image manually.

There's that one "buy jade's game" comic by scribblekid/teh_dave, which either gives you errors on /v/ or silently eats your post. There are also DMCA bans, but those at least give you back a message. Some pics also autoban you.
