what are the best "second distro" for people who tried linux mint and want to try something else now?
Zorin? Manjaro? Puppy? Trisquel? Debian? Pop?

I heard knitting is good

No one size fits all hands. What are you personally looking for in a Linux distro?

Slackware

I suggest asking it on >>108005178

Unless you have a problem with Mint, there's no point in distrohopping.

If your goal is to learn how to configure a Linux system without Mint's pre-config, Arch, Slackware and Linux From Scratch are good choices for that.

From my experience, I stared with zorin and toy around with every desktop mode, then I tried damm small linux, puppy linux, and manjaro. At the end of my rope I installed mint (mate) and my life changed. Right now I use winbugs 10 'cause i need it for work, and microsoft basically steal every feature I liked about linux.

mostly just curious to see if there's something I'm missing out on by picking the most commonly promoted one. I'm looking for something that's stable and unlikely to give me issues if a regular old retard uses it regularly, if that narrows it down.

I don't like /flgt/, they tend to ignore most questions from nobodies

Do you miss something?

I JUST WENT FROM LINUX MINT(10 YEARS) TO ENDEAVOUROS (ARCH)

I year in, I am still loving the upgrade. KDE Plasma looks superb! And the apps repository of Arch has EVERYTHING.

If you go for EndeavourOS or vanilla Arch, BAUH (is the best GUI app manager I found)

not something specific, I just know I haven't explored all my options yet and I'm looking for another direction to go in with advice from people who know more than me about the subject.

install gentoo

you need fedora immutable with Flatpak only you won't want to go back afterwards

hmmmm

The feature I appreciate most about Linux is that you can do almost everything with the keyboard. But you don't have to install a different distro for that, just install vimium, i3/sway and Doom Emacs.
>>
>>108006393
Why not try the PuppyOs?
>>
>>108006393
Use Arch use the install script. Or just use cachyos.

You'll learn more with default arch and it has loads of support online (has a whole dedicated wiki) and it's great for gaming.
>>
>>108006692
I mean... It's a distro. All of them are pretty much the same.
>>

Yeah, that helps, try Big Sur.
>>
I'm beginning to think nobody on here actually uses linux

What you're probably looking for is really just fucking around with different desktop environments rather than the underlying operating system. From the average normie usecase you won't notice a difference when the shit under the hood changes.
If you wanna stay in the retard proof "just works" tier of distros try fedora with either gnome or kde. If you wanna fuck around with tiling window managers try installing i3/sway/hyprland or whatever else catches your eye.

Nigger linux nigger edition (it's niggerlicious)

My second distro was Arch

What's your usecase? Are you familiar with the terminal? Do you want to get familiar with the terminal?
>>

windows 10

I have a problem with mint, it's ugly and the Devs are massively incompetent.

True, there’s like a weird tranny clique thing going on there.

This is kind of like asking "hey guys I bought all these tools to build a table and it went great, I had everything I needed and now I have a table too! what tools should I buy next?"
I know you want to see what you're missing, but if there were some universal thing that everyone wanted but some distros lacked, those distros would just integrate that thing. There really is no one general answer. Tell us what you use your computer for, what you like doing, what you like about Mint, and what you don't like about Mint.

You have the wrong mindset, fren. You should tinker and mess with itand poke at it trying to understand stuff until it breaks. Then you buke it and distrohop to another distro randomly and do it again. You'll learn what theh do differently and what they do the same. The good and the bad of which one, the trade-offs. Make sure you keep your data backed up and try to break it. Also, don't jump from Mint to Ubuntu or Debian as they're too close and you'll learn less.

My journey:
(from Windoes XP)
Ubuntu
Fedora
Arch
Mint (sharing laptop with normalfag gf who used for basic college stuff)
Centos
OpenPepe
Played with Nix a while
Spend some years working with Windows and too tired when got home to play with Linux
Now I installed Fedora XFCE because I know I don't care much about anything else it just werks well enough for all I care. I'm eyeing Slackware on a VM to play around with and maybe afterwards install Gentoo for the meme. Or BSD.

>Need more and it has to be cutting edge but breaks sometime
Arch.
>Need less and want it to be stable
Debian.
The only real options once you leave the normalfag trying Linux options.

Thanks for the well-thought-out advice

Debian or Fedora, everything else is a bit pointless
