Sure, laptops got nice and thin, but they're no longer repairable at all. You can't swap a single component. What I hate even more is the AI laptop boom. Almost every laptop is sold as some "CoPilot+ laptop". Hardware is optimized for AI. Win11 and CoPilot locked in.AI is apparently so handy and so great that they're forcing me to use it. I'm glad companies know what's best for me.
>not repairable>forced to have an Internet connection>basically just an AI babysitterAll of this combined means that you're paying for a computer that's not even yours, its theirs.
>>108014748>Sure, laptops got nice and thin, but they're no longer repairable at allonly contrarian zoomzooms and shitlenials say this because they never tried to take apart older laptops before or any laptop for that matter
>>108014748>Sure, laptops got nice and thin, but they're no longer repairable at all. You can't swap a single componentever heard of a framework laptop?not gonna read the rest lmao
>>108014748i gave up and got mba m4laptops are done for, the only components you can swap anyway is ram and storage so might as well get the maxed out corporate greedit's unironically really good but if anything dies in there - well, in the trash it goes, so no way it would be my only machine
>>108014748>Sure, laptops got nice and thinMeh. Laptops today work way better as laptops ie mobile devices. Just get a MacBook and if you want more storage/ra/power just sell it and buy something new (or used).
>>108014748Tried a "nice and thin" laptop. It was unbearable. Went back to a thick gaming laptop.
>>108014748> Not repairable Have you been on /TPG/ ? I bought an HP elite book and every component within the case can be replaced. It's an elitebook 645 g11 and I love it . > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XCSc2klXXoThe major oems (dell, hp, Lenovo) have great aftermarket parts support. Hell Asus is the only consumer brand that has a good aftermarket parts supply too. The only laptops that require my microscopes and Jewish eyes are MacBooks.
>>108014748>goes to the tech board to post about being a tech illiterate nigger>six quadrillion youtube channels showing exactly how to replace nands and literally any component on modern laptops and phones>WAHHHH ABLOOBLOOBLOO I MISS WHEN COMPUTER PARTS WERE LIKE LEGO BRICKS I HATE LEARNING NEW SKILLS I HATE LEARNING NEW SKILLS MOMMY HELP ME AHHHfucking faggotif a 5 year old in zhangzhou can operate a heat gun and a nand stencil with some solder paste, so can you.
>>108014748>>Nothing is reparable anymore!>never fixed a laptop when they were repairable>meanwhile>shitload of people now do SMD repairs / swaps>inb4 but upgradabilityMost still let you upgrade storage, the only one that matters. There's no upgrade path that you'd need to upgrade CPU or RAM anyways. Literally this issue exists to bitch, just happens that it benefits manufacturers too.
