I think Youtube is a cool website but I don't like that it stalks you by putting the same 5-10 videos in the sidebar and forcing you to click "do not recommend" every day.

Yeah the not interested and don't recommend channel literally don't do anything anymore. I actually think this is incompetence rather than malice because due to being an SPA if you click on a new video the ones you clicked away from the old video will pop back up but still showing the undo button lmao.
what i love most on websites is when this happens>see related videos on side>click something, but then see an interesting looking vid last second>go back>somehow every single other video remains, but the one you want is gone

You could also use the GUI version, but that one might not tell you if you're missing some components that need to be installed separately.Alternatively, just use a different YouTube downloading site. Most of them stop working and/or turn to malware ridden shit eventually so you might need to switch. I believe the last one I used was https://y2meta.is/, it also lets you download just the mp3 file and pick the quality. I think it works for 1080p as well.Of course, there are other options like IDM and Jdownloader, but the first one isn't free so it requires cracking every once in a while, while the second can be non-functional at times when it comes to YouTube. It also installs adware unless you use the proper installer on their forum instead of the site one.

>>108024623Thanks! I've only ever tried the one by kannagi0303 called yt-dlp-gui and it didn't work very well compared to just the CLI. I only just noticed it hasn't been updated in several years, maybe that's what gave me issues with it.
