I miss interacting with humans over the internet

>First they took online games, replaced with matchmaking, replaced text with emote based interactions, removed any sort of custom content (who even remembers custom maps, modes or even whole mods)
>killed personal websites made by real people
>Then they brought normalfags through "social media", who then sabotaged communities and few the few remaining interactions with internet people were done through giant soulless, pseudonymous aggregators
>now ai killed these media and social aggregators
>currently the last chance to watch humans is to follow some "content creator" and to be part of his faceless crowd of fans hoping for him to see your message among the spam on his chat

Agreed.

Proper forums are shit and chatrooms are gone too and yeah.
Online games have gone to shit and even MMOs are barely a thing anymore.

A lot of people mistake reddit (aggregator), or other corporate "forums", or even the boomer hobby communities for "forums", as they were between 1995-2005.

At that time, /b/ wasn't even that wild besides raids and 18+ content for that era's standards.

It's just that these real forums died with era of digg and reddit. "retro" and boomer-hobby forums are equally bad.

I dont. Remember this shit?

. Has an idea to discuss.
. Searches for a previous post matching the idea so as to not clutter the board with unnecessary new threads.. Finds it and posts there.
. Get scolded for "necroposting".
. Starts new thread with the idea.
. Thread get locked because subject has been discussed already.
. Gets told to search better next time.

stackoverflow isn't a forum it was a corporate way to "create a community" so they can rack money from ads and turf marketing.

I am talking about old forums, 30 - 20 years ago.

you're interacting with me right now. what, am I not good enough for you?

>>108021509
I ran a couple pluto beseen boards for years until it all turned to spam and flamebait.

That's the whole point - dividing people. Isolate them so they can't get together to go against the new gubmint. Stay home, hate other people, and talk only to a totally private state funded AI.

Yeah but you're old and boring, now. Also you're too ethereal, and have been wearing the same shade of blue for like 20+ years. Your captcha is also annoying.

That Pelevin book sounds batshit. I hope I have a chance to read it one day.

I love how you expect the cover to be some bootleg bullshit from an underpaid intern but it's actually 100% relevant to the actual story

Post modern literature is so retarded and try hard.

Yea, at that time I was visiting a few sites like pokerstrategy.com, a German starcraft site and 2+2 poker and tons of /b/ memes were being reposted. Those were actual for profit sites and not just personal forums. People were absolutely fine with pedobear raping Skype. I think nowadays even people here wouldn't find that acceptable.

>they took online games
what you need is older games with tight community
play cs 1.6 anon

I just hate how online interests are based around specific people or options rather than general hobbies now. Before it was mostly generalists with a few subject matter experts (autists). Now it's like everyone is an autist about their chosen game/act/person and don't know or give a shit about anything else. Or what's more annoying, they view anything outside of it as a threat or enemy that needs to be attacked or go to war over. 4chan's ins a similar boat too, people don't even have home boards anymore they have home generals they spend most of their time in. Many boards are completely dead outside of generals, only twitter ragebait gets any replies outside of them.

in general people's interests are splintering
there are now a hundred different music cultures where 2 stood previously
possibly a link could be made to political polarisation
