politics are a disease within everything other than itself, being distracted with politics will hamper efficiency, and i say that in regards to both the developer and the end-user. if a developer (i like to point towards the developer of elementary os as the prime example) is too into politics, then they spend less time working on their software. if an end-user (i.e. the average /pol/lack who shits up threads here every now and then) is too into politics, they can hamper their own stack and end up with an incredibly inefficient or outright terrible workflow.
