For me, it's Ask Jeeves.
>>108022295Funny thing, I have known about it from the beginnig and never once did I feel like using it. Same thing with altavista and lycos. I was a yahoo guy who graduated to google when the color text thing came out and that's about it.
I am a zoomer and heard about this for the first time like last month.
>>108022393Is there a zoomer equivalent to this?
>>108022295Never went back after they rebranded to Ask.com. The soul was gone
>>108022433>soulZoomer detected, larp discarded.
>>108022295I remember using this back in early 1999, and my lab teacher told me to try Google.com instead.
>>108022459When I first heard of Google I thought it sounded gay but until 2012 or so it was super based.
>>108022295>ask jeetslore accurate
>>108022295>Ask Jeeves
>>108022451That joke doesn't really work due to the timing.
Do any of you remember fucking Cha Cha? I fucking loved that site as a kid. It blew my mind someone was fucking looking for my search result.
>>108023666checkedi applied for a job there to do that but wasnt hiredthey were pretty much toast by that point
I used Oxysearch as a joke but the search engine died.
>>108022382>altavistaI remember that was the first search engine I used and the concept of a search engine was so futuristic to me, since it was all knowing certain urls and following links before.I had some friends in tech later and they showed me google when it was pretty new. I tried using Ask Jeeves when it came out but the couple searches I tried didn't have any particular advantages over google, which was first anyway.of course now, Google is actually the worst.
I grew up in an AOL household so even when we went to google we got AOL resultsThis is back when every advertisement gave you their website and then said “or AOL keyword XYZ”
