Why is /g/ like this? Why don’t you guys ever look for balance?
>>
>>108023263
My parents gave me their old couch and it's far more comfortable than any bed I've ever lied on. If it wasn't so cheap and rickety, I would just throw out my old prison-tier IKEA bed frame and miserable innerspring mattress and sleep on it instead.
>>
>>108023263
There's not much to balance for a /g/ oriented NEET. You have your tech shit and then your bed.
>>
>>108023263
>Why don’t you guys ever look for balance?
Because balance would mean sacrificing things I care about (PC performance/hardware), OR waste a fuck ton of money on overpriced furniture I don't give a fuck about.

So instead I have a $120 ikea desk from 20 years ago paired with ~$6,000 worth of computer hardware.

i lived like that in my 20's.
now i have a house, a mortgage, and a living room with no couch or chair just a 72 inch tv that i don't use.
it doesn't get any better.
>>
>>108023263
Just spend the minimal amount per time that is adequate for your needs. If a $20 air mattress is adequate for your sleep needs, but your computer needs require a $5000 computer, so be it.
>>
>>108023339
this.
>>
That's me. Considering the price hike of all the RAM etc. I have a folding out chair/bed tho and a big screen. This is balance. Perfect even. Let me guess, you need more.
>>
>>108023263
sleeping on the floor is good for your back. Also you can fold it and then use the area to exercise.

You really think if you bought a big ass house you wouldnt be in the one room on your computer every day?
>>
>>108023458
it's not a bad thing, just don't think that growing up is the solution to your current problems. things just change and become easier in a sense.
>>
None of my family knows this, but I prefer sleeping on the couch. I only sleep in my bed when I have them over as guests.

I live alone and I still use headphones for most things.
The most disappointing part of building and entire 7.2 home theater is realizing that a decent $200 headphone provides you with a better audio experience.
only real downside of headphones is using those in bed

My dresser cost more than my pc

not even remotely true

I originally bought a japanese futon and tatami out of necessity. After years of using it on the floor my back pain is gone. I can fold it all up and store it, which is great because my current room is small. It all costs less than $300 even after considering the sheets and pillow. I even had to replace the futon last year due to my cats destroying it. It cost less than $100 after tax. I was able to upgrade my system due to my lifestyle cost savings, now the only thing I could maybe need is a GPU upgrade in a few years.

I have balance.
My desktop area is fully visible from my giant L-shaped couch and my pc is also connected to my tv which in itself is visible from my bed (I live in a studio) so my entire apartment is maximized for comfort and seating options.

you gotta stop bustin for like two weeks before you're having dreams like that.

I can't speak for everyone, but having my own house meant I was able to truly spread out and have proper room for everything I want. Before, when everything needed to be cramped into one tiny room, it was uncomfy as hell. I never used loudspeakers because it wasn't my house. All my video game stuff had to be relegated to a space in the closet. There was no room for anything. Now I have a dedicated hifi setup and proper shelves for my records/CDs in the living room. I have a dedicated home office room where my desk is set up. I have a dedicated retro game room with all my old consoles, games, and CRTs. I have a dedicated art room where I like to paint (as well as other stuff like soldering and other handiwork stuff). And I have a garage gym with squat rack, barbell and plates, strongman-style sandbags, pullup bar and gymastic rings, etc. Life is good, fren

Move the bed in the corner of the wall
Sit on the bed
Turn the PC side ways
Put monitor on PC
Keyboard and mouse on your lap/bed side

Nothing weird about that.
When I first moved into my own apartment I bought a bed (fairly nice one, correct hardness and everything) but I also bought a huge couch and I slept on the couch 9/10 nights simple because it was more comfortable.
When I moved apartments (to where I live now) I just got rid of the bed. 100% couch sleeper now.
>>
>>108025894
And before the "erm achtually" tards come knocking, it's been 15+ years on the couch now. I'm almost 40. No back issues.
>>
>>108024459
$200 speakers mog $200 headphones so much it's not even funny. Surround is a meme, stereo is better. Even if you think a real center channel is better than phantom center - it really isn't, it always disappoints.

Ew... If I count my projector, there is $4,700 across six displays that I can see right now.
