Windows 8/8.1 was the best most performant version of Windows since Microsoft released Windows 2000. It was fast, stable, and ran on systems with minimal resources. Everything that came after it was nothing but bloat and created needless IT waste.
also im trans, if that makes any difference
>>108023859Good for you. Windows 8.1 remains best OS though.
>>108023846You've posted this once and been decisively shat on, schizo.
>>108023846nobody liked this trash even in 2012 when it first came out. the same goes for the vista schizos who think it was actually good when it was absolute dogshit apart from the ui. im waiting when 2036 comes and retards will be nostalgic for windows 11.
>>108024018this. windows 8 sucks cock, nobody likes it.
Windows 8.1 was goated and you nerds never tried it.
>>108023846needless IT waste.I call that microsoft ensuring IT Technician employment and caring for us IT Technicians.
>>108023859that just makes you wrong twice
>>108024373i liked Windows 8.1but i was also one of the seemingly few people who bought a Nokia Windows phone, so i guess i'm just built different
>>108024373>vista schizos who think it was actually good when it was absolute dogshit apart from the ui.XP actually suckedpoorfag
>>108023846windows me = windows vista = windows 8 = windows 11 = shit.
>>1080238462015-2019 I used 8.1, the most stable version I used.I will never forgive AMD for pulling the plug as early as they did for it. They purely displayed that driver support and updates are purely based on statistics and it has nothing to do with how old your OS is or how it doesn't support X or Y.
Also 10 was much worse than 8.1, by very very far. God how can anyone defend that piece of shit OS just because 11 happens to exist is beyond me.
>>108025239Correct take from a genuine 8.1 user. Only people that never actually tried it hate on it. It's by far the best/most stable version of Windows I've ever used.
>>108025312>>108025128
>>108025312Generally I understand why it happened. It's as simple as people not wanting to change what works for them. Once 8 was out, it wasn't great. Once 8.1 was out, it needed a bit of polishing still. By the time 8.1 was golden people already either switched back to 7, or accepted the full dicking on 10 unfortunately.8.1 had some limitations with older games (for instance, a 4GB VRAM limit on DX9 games) but for everything else it was a beast. I could have multiple 8.1 machines running on a fucking 2011 thinkpad without breaking a sweat. I miss this fucker. Why did 10 happen and screw everything up? I'm using linux nowadays.
>>108025350Not including 10 in that list automatically makes your opinion completely irrelevant
i think i did use windows 8, but the update to windows 10 was free and encouraged by microsoft. i don't remember what windows 8 was like.
>>108025244>>108025358>>108025360All one schizo
>>108025360when I worked in computers and 8 came out, it was so shit we never installed it on any customers computers and suggested they skip to the next version. same for when I worked at a state government they skipped from 7 to 10 because of how shit 8 was.
>>108025403Oh really? Here's what I had to deal with on 10 with different people's PCs:>Booting into black screens with cursors time after time>Automatic restarting by default without consent, causing more headaches than I could stomach>Windows defender constantly flagging wrong files and deleting them for no good reason>Hard drives being mercilessly raped into oblivion, making the system nearly unusable without an SSD (also unusable on virtual machines)>Constant issues after updating to a new bi yearly version>Broken audio drivers left and right>Having to set file associations twice because of a dumb bug>Keyboard layouts coming back after being removed (didn't get fixed by the way to this very day)By the way, 8.1 didn't force itself upon users the way 10 did. "Why did my PC just change" is not something I heard about 7 getting updated to 8.1. It's not a complaint I heard multiple fucking times with 8.1. You do realize the amount of bullshit people could only do because 7 and 8.1 actually allowed to select updates manually, unlike the garbage 10 has been? The cancer it brought upon society as a whole?
8 was a fish in aquarium - https://dirteam.com/sander/2009/01/13/windows-7-beta-fishing-for-clues/this is micro-retarded psyop, system was much locked for modding. list one feature
>>108025573>list one featureHere's two:- fastest boot time of all Windows OS's- lighter on resources than Windows 7
>>108025658this whole speedup nothingburger is related to system restore service, that was turned off by win7 modders even before speedup was advertised as a benefit of transition.tuned up win7 boots as a lightbulb, even if theres 1 second boot speedup by win8, it wont make a difference
>retard zoomers feeling nostalgic for 8Nah, get the fuck out, you could ran 7 just fine but not 8 because the os wasn't designed with netbooks in mind and the ui was cropped on 1024x600 screens.I used it on desktop but 7 was 100% better on mobile devices.
>>108024373>the same goes for the vista schizos who think it was actually good when it was absolute dogshit apart from the ui.Windows 7 was just Vista SP3, so if you think Vista sucked then so did Windows 7. They sucked the exact same amount. The only difference was that 3 years after Vista, hardware caught up, hardware makers finally had enough drivers, and software makers made updates to have each app run in user mode so you don't have the most basic apps give you security popups. All of which already affected Vista too by then.
>>108025312They're confused because of the 8 in its name. Windows 8.1 is not Windows 8. It's like a better version of Windows 7.
