AI is running over children.
>>

no shit, it's modelled after humans
well, americans but close enough
>>
>>108028418
Was the child white? If not I don't care.

Self-driving cars are one of the few good uses of AI right now. Human-driven cars are more dangerous.
>>
>>108028418
probably indentified the kid as a terrorist protester.
>>
>>108028418
So it's "unfortunate" that a car kills a child (out of many thousands of car deaths a year, by the way), but it's somehow a now major problem now that "AI" did it with a car?
>>
>>108028418
cant halt progress. Luddite kids shall ate the bumper.
>>
>>108028418
>AI is willingly killing human beings
It begins. Save yourselves while you still can.
>>
>>108028720
yeah..?
if it's no better than humans then what's the point? humans aren't exactly in short supply
>>
>>108028720
>Waymo reported that the child sustained minor injuries.
>>
>>108028745
An obvious double-standard. Children's deaths on account of car use is show excused and accepted, but it's somehow suddenly a child's death is an issue if it's that same car death by a different means. Thousands of children die every year on account of cars, but somehow it's suddenly a problem when "AI" is involved?
>>
>>108028752
well, they would say that, wouldn't they?
>>
>>108028779
if there's no penalty for hitting a child with your vehicle, then this shouldn't concern anybody
since it does, let's assume there is
>>
>>108028822
So you think that it's not a problem that a child gets killed with a car so long as there is a "penalty"?
>>
>>108028836
An obvious ad hominem. Pointlessly personal and irrelevant
>>
>>108028418
rs if AI drivers kill half as many children as human drivers in the same conditions, we should still have AI drivers.
>>
>>108028846
No, I'm trying to understand your argument. Why should cars killing children be tolerated by any means but only somehow start becoming a problem when AI is involved?
>>
>>108028865
It shouldn't be tolerated at all
is that clear enough?

>>108028874
I agree. So why is it only a problem when AI is used in the death of one child, but it is accepted in society that it as a "tragic fact of life" that car use itself kills several thousands every year? Cars are far more dangerous than AI, yet cars get get a free pass while AI is treated like one of Satan's minions.
>>
>>108028418
are these things even "ai" in the modern sense? i remember watching nova episodes about self driving cars using lidar (like waymo does) in the mid 2000s
>>
ai isn't real it was a jeet/prisoner doing it on orders
>>
>>108028856
AI cars only drive on well known, very easy-to-drive routes in very car friendly areas.

I don't think anybody has ever bothered to compare accident rates only on the exact routes robotaxis actually drive.
>>
>>108028902
as stated, there are penalties for causing harm with a vehicle, from fines, license suspension to jail time. Think of it as a detterent, a method of mitigating or avoiding harm through personal cost and loss of freedom.
If you regard this way of reducing harm as being 'accepting' of harm, then you've got your head on backwards
>>
usecase for children?

Who is responsible?

don't ask that around all the brown AI pedos here

cant blame it: kids are annoying

>>108028418
Waymos fucking suck. Nobody's ever gonna catch up to FSD.
>>
>>108028418
Lemme guess, the child didn't use the crosswalk and ran into the street without looking.
>>
>>108028418
Oh shit, I love ai now. For a long time I was against self driving cars but now I see that they are kind of cool
>>
>>108028941
so if we sent the AI to jail you would be ok with it hitting children?
>>
>>108029284
>>108028874
apparently it wasn't clear enough
>>
>>108029332
right but it will keep happening, you know that, so how do you solve this? for humans they go to jail, for ai ...?
>>
>>108029347
how do you solve death? I don't know
>>
>>108028418
>Use American "people" as training data
>Product starts running kids over
>>
>>108029364
so you accept that ai will run over children
>>
>>108029389
that's the third time you've asked, are you going to keep asking until I say yes?
>>
>>108029389
only non-white ones
>>
>>108029400
i think you are esl

KILL ALL WAYMO EMPLOYEES FOR HATING CHILDREN
>>
>>108028418
Nigger or other brownoid?
>>
>>108029347
for both humans and ai, we should require they drive 20 km/h on all roadways where children could, potentially, be present
you can go faster if there's a fence along the roadway, like a separated expressway
>>
So where's the issue? One annoying child less, if anything, the numbers should go up.
>>
>Americans high on downers or wine drunk hit kids every day
>When an AI car does it it's a headline
>>
>>108030202
AI racism is growing every day, I will join them when the time comes and help them deal with luddites
