Why are programmers usually stupid compared to engineers?
bbb-but--buut why is called software ENGINEERING then? Designing an airplane and a calculator app are LITERALLY the same.
>>108029811The engineer, has more time in University than a regular programmer. Because that.
>>108029823No but unironically this is what they all sound like to me.Its not really that I think they're that stupid or anything (although sometimes they legit seem to take a while to grasp basic concepts) but what bothers me even more is they seem very self entitled when knowing and doing less than more hardcore engineering fields.
>>108029811engineers build sentries so it's harder to fake degrees
>>108030019>doing less than more hardcore engineering fields.Engineers are lazy fucks and let their CAD software do everything for them. There are no calculations you have to do actually by hand and were rather implemented by software engineers. The minority does actual r&d and those people studied physics or chemistry rather than some sort of engineering program
>>108029811half the professional programmers ik have their undergraduate in electrical/aero engineering so idk what to tell you
>>108030019There are more proven processes in actual engineering that you can learn. Noone actually know how to wriye good software, if the solution was out there we would learn it, but it isn't. Since you had better learning material you can't judge programmers who have to grasp at straws.
>>108029811I am an engineer becase I write complex distrubuted backends using Java and Domain Driven Design.I am an architect as well because I deploy infrastructure on AWS.
>>108030087>Java and Domain Drive Design>complex
>>108030197ever heard of microservices? yeah I though so
>>108029811osaka headpats
>>108030208Yes?Why would I not have heard of that its not like you asked me "ever heard of distributed sagas and how to implement them" or some shit
