Are other operating systems smart enough to know not to go into a suspend state if it's in the middle of a file transfer? Because I have to manually ensure both ends stay up if I'm doing a big file operation on Windows.

inhibiting sleep over something as minor as a file transfer is really bad design
so unless they just give you a checkbox that says "keep computer awake until this is done", then no.

you use windows 7?

are you retarded?
you realize if a pc is connected to the internet, there are "file transfers" every second forever right?

I set them both to never sleep and left it overnight
Should have take an hour and a half according to the ETA
Woke up in the morning too see it got stuck on a file half way throughbecause of some nonsense that I had to click try again for it to continue

Hopefully it continued and finished by now I'm not home
