Imagine trying to lie in a smartphone general on a technology board.
Unfortunately both Apple and Google are actively collecting data and so are the apps that we use. After the Snowden leaks none of this should be new information.
>>
>>108036183
The main difference is Google gives you free services in exchange for spying on you.
Apple charges you $1000 extra so you can have the privilege of being spied on. It's literally paying for cuckolding.

There are some out there, but these days you realistically might need a messaging app (outside of SMS/RCS), a banking app, a way to scan QR codes (cheap cameras struggle to read them off of bright screens) and a couple other ones depending on what you do (parking and store membership cards come to mind). You unironically need a fully-fledged computer to function in today's society (even if most of its processing power is dedicated to a Mossad botnet).

>>108037551
I don't think so. I paid more than it's worth and had to spend a couple of hours removing all the "AI" crap. I knew what I was getting into and it's worth it for me (all I wanted was a basic 3-day-charge phone), but it won't be popular.

>>
>>108037861
I think the OnePlus 15R is basically a scam. It is just the global version of the cheap OnePlus Ace 6T that Chinese buyers mostly avoid because the camera is terrible unless you only care about gaming. The 165Hz screen is pretty much its only real selling point. For about the same price you can get a Chinese OnePlus 15 (12GB 256GB) that flashed to OxygenOS. 12 512GB is like less than 100USD upgrade.

Do you rent your Iphone, anon?
>As an Indonesian, I can vouch that many Indonesians do this because they need to improve their social status by showing off their achievements when meeting their friends.
>One of those "achievements" is placing an iPhone face down on the table when they're eating at a restaurant.
>Sometimes it doesn't even have to be the latest iPhone. You can just use an iPhone XR, and people would think "wow an iPhone "
>This need to show off creates demand, and that's why you can find so many accounts offering iPhone rental services.
>Depending on the model, prices to rent an iPhone can be as low as $5.
>Not only iPhones, some people are also offering rental services for other Apple products like AirPods, MacBooks, etc.
>So yeah, the key to success in Indonesia is probably using Apple products.
>>
>>108038449
It's my first OnePlus and I've only had it for two days (I specifically waited for the official launch in the EU to get a real warranty). The chipset is good, not as good as the Elite but it doesn't overheat (I tried emulating some games and I'm happy). Battery life is great (that was the whole point for me). Beyond that, I don't know what to say, I don't take pictures at all, I aggresively debloat phones to the point that they all become the same, I only use basic FOSS apps, overall it's extreme overkill for my use case. Your average normie review will probably be worth more than my opinion.
>>108038479
>camera is terrible
If it wasn't for the occasional QR code I'd want a phone with no cameras at all.
>chinese phone flashed to Oxygen
I'd rather have a legally bulletproof warranty straight from the store, not from a manufacturer on the other side of the planet.
Still, you're right, for most people it is borderline a scam (I paid 700 euros for the 512GB version with no extras).

Even the base iPhone 17 SOC beats the weak soc in the Pixel 10 Pro XL. If l were you may e the OnePlus 15 is a better fit, but that's if the camera is not important to you.
>>
>>108040326
camera is important to me
from what I understand, pixel 10 will have the best cam? Maybe new galaxy ultra would be better, but I'm not dealing with that cancerous bloat
>>
>>108040385
I'm this anon >>108038449
If camera is important to you just get an iphone there's no other question about it. Extremely good video + extremely good photos so that justifies the price.

If you want android only and are outside of the US then you can look into the xiaomi leica collab, that phone seems to be doing really good.

If not, then the galaxy ultra is a better buy considering the chip you're getting. Pixels are shit performance for the price, and the camera is made good by software enhancements not necessarily the hardware.
>>
>>108040415
no iphone for sure
how shit is galaxy UI? I really like base google/android pixel experience, I don't want double system apps for everything
>>
>>108040458

The entire point of benchmarks was to compare performance decades ago when there were 41873418 computer architectures and no one knew which was actually faster.
When everything is ARM or x86 your currybench is fucking useless when you can use actual real world apps to compare performance, since that was the whole point.
Of course you don't want to show that because real app performance would reveal your curryPhones as the steaming heaps of shit that they are.

Even Qualcomm displayed the Geekbench 6 results for the latest snapdragon at it's latest event. You're posting your false opinions as facts.
Oh look you're also back to posting 3+ year old videos with no links or sources about iPhones again since the comparison videos of the latest iPhones won't fit your fake narratives as usual.

Don't worry I'll post the gaming and camera comparisons of the latest iPhones flagship vs the latest android flagship since you obviously won't.

Let's start with the iPhone 17 Pro Max vs the Red Magic 11 Pro (both of which I own too) and btw the results for both the videos below is the A19 Pro being better.

I can't decide if it was spent so much on the phone he couldn't make rent or if the phone is the only thing you own, might as well have a baller. Maybe I'll swing by his bush and ask him tomorrow.

Should I do it?
my old Unihertz Titan is painfully out of date.
It's either this, or the newest $1300 Galaxy phone in hopes it'll last longer.

Thinking about it, I would much prefer a stylus to a headphone jack. (I'd really want to have both, but this is the world we live in) so I'm not entirely sure what the best move would be.
I've got enough money to get the biggest Samsung Ultra, but obviously I'd prefer to not spend a kidney for a phone that I mostly just use to scroll Clover on breaks at work, or when I need to do some mild internet browsing away from my computer.
>>
>>108048184
>last longer,
just spend small amounts (100-150€) on new phones and abuse the shit out of them. its not like phones are getting cheaper and more powerfull with each new month.
>>
>>108048271
by last longer, I mean get software and security updates for longer. I take pretty good care of my tech.
My current one has a weird layout issue in the text messages function, and my credit card's app just blocked all access until I update to a newer Android version.
Also, I hate switching phones because I have to get everything all set up again.

This but without the retardation and fanboyism.
The iphone XX pro is basically the same thing as the pro max specs wise, it only has less battery and gets hot slightly faster, plus you have all the pc game ports if you're into that.

>Even Qualcomm displayed the Geekbench 6 results for the latest snapdragon at it's latest event
Geekbench is well known to be a garbage test that runs so extremely fast in all phones that there's barely any real validity to it.
If you showed antutu or 3dmark it would be a reasonable test because those max out both the cpu and gpu of the phones, and if you run them for 15 minutes straight you get the real performance the phones have in a real scenario.
Plus, it's also well known geekbench has always showed apple SoCs performance to be extremely better than the competition while in real life it's barely half of a mediocre cpu from their competitors.
>>
>>108050895
If you can't post the proof behind your misinformed opinions no one here is going to believe you once again Qualcomm displayed the geekbench 6 benchmarks for their latest SOC at the event when they announced it I'm going to trust the actual experts about this and not some random and on lying in the thread.
>>
>>108042874
Not him, but I can't trust unihertz right now, they've been well known for abandoning their phones immediately, and the titan 2 is literally brand new and it came with fucking android 15 when 16 released in june of last year, and just next month they'll be updating the phone.
If I'm spending big time money on a thing, I would expect to at least get big time support, my secondary oneplus nord 4 has had constant updates since I got it last year and it's already on android 16.

I literally have no clue what the hell you're saying, pajeet-sama.
Companies are well known to lie on their presentations by showing only their best results on a certainly constrained scenario they know competitors fail at it.
The apple M1 was supposedly twice as fast as the intel i9 13900k as per geekbench and other synthetic benchmarks, yet you did any real working man's job, and the i9 completed all the tasks 4 times as fast as the M1.
Hell, to this day there's no x86 cpu that has a single core score as big as an m2 chip, yet we all know an ultra 5 200h cpu is twice as fast as an m4, while using the same amount of power.

One thing I hate about tech reviewers is that they'll sing the praises of the Oneplus 13, Xiaomi 15, Pixel 10 Pro, Vivo x300 but they will never daily drive these phones. They're all like 90% of the iPhone users, 9% are Samsung Ultra users and 1% use Pixels like Tech Spurt or Oneplus or whatever.

I know it's gonna make the poverty stricken anons act like they are now itt trying to convince us that a $250 mid ranger is equivalent to a $1,200+ flagship. :)

>>108059108
The influencers are paid by the companies and they get money and they get a free device from them to talk about them in a positive manner and it's part of the contract where they're not allowed to talk about any of the negative aspects of the device for example a lot of the influencers never mentioned the OnePlus 15 overheating and legit it was such a flop of a device and this is me as an owner of one saying this. I also believe that's the reason why Oppo decided to scrap them since they just were doing so horribly under stress and overheating and shutting down. Reviewers like versus, android authority and one other reviewer were the only people showing their OnePlus 15 phones overheating on video. Android authority was the only one that showed the OnePlus 15 after the update to fix the overheating still resulted in the OnePlus 13 beating it.
>>
>>108058964
I am laughing at this post because I was the guy who started this discourse around budget shitphones and the (spiritual) Indians pushing them. In all fairness Poco isn't bad it's just I hate the brokie loser faggots taking excessive pride in their mid phones like it's a badge of honor.

Phones aren't like cars. The difference between a cheapo Honda Civic and a high end luxury sport cars is like $100,000 at least. But the difference between a piece of shit budget phone from Kmart that's $100 and locked to a provider and an iPhone 17 Pro Max 512GB is $2000. And the iPhone will serve you well for 4-6 years and mogs the budget and even midrange phone. Best camera, screen, battery life (chinkphones boast big batteries but get mogged by iPhones with half the battery capacity), processor, software (Android is better than iOS in a lot of ways in terms of UI and functionality but you won't get half the bugs you will on HyperOS).

And for what? 2 grand. If you aren't a loser you are making 80-120k a year. 2 grand is nothing over 5 years, that's $400 a year. Ultimately it comes down to old chan culture. A lot of oldfags are heavy 4chan users are turbo-rotters who live on government disability and with their parents (usually one of them because dads walked out on their family or died from the disappointment from raising a fail son) who can't afford nice things. And no doubt there's been a massive influx of Indian zoomers and millenials coming online, gen A jeets too.

Yeah. But they're all worthless. What makes a review good is when you point out problems that will actually seriously impact you when you buy it. But in all fairness you either buy an A36/A56 if you're on a budget, S25/S25+ if you want some kinda premium, and S25U if you want the best of what the Android world has to offer, or you just buy an iPhone. Pixel and everything else is just lousy.

I mean just check the supported devices on the crdroid website, they cant support a non-unlockable device. poco f7 is on there

Need an new affordable but still reasonably functional phone dedicated for work. my samsung galaxy S7 is showing its age. call, text and email with customers is the name of the game. the OP info has helped a lot in finding these options.

>one plus nord N30 5G
>motorola moto g (power)
they both have microSD card slots and a 3.5mm jack which is good for when im on the road. i feel i cant go wrong with either phone. the N30 and the Moto g power (2024) are both very similar comparing them on GSMarena.

just make the call on aesthetics?

Anyone else still using Kuroba in 202X? For some reason it just stopped working for me this morning, I think it's the new CloudFlare thing

Is there any reason for some of you believing that Qualcomm is inherently superior to Mediatek?

there is an universal dns setting called "private dns" since android 9
>>

The Red Magic 11 Pro is the current android flagship benchmark champion. It has a Snapdragon. Mediatek phones did well, but weren't number 1. Since Snapdragon has the top spot, yes we will still say they are the best.

Yes, by a whopping .26 inches. Thinness is still important to improving ergonomics. Remember when phones used to come with the frame tapered off on both sides?

I've narrowed it down to either this, or the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro (because they both have headphone slots). What sorts of Chinese spyware does this one come with? This one is a lot cheaper, so it must be significant.

I bought a Pixel 10 Pro XL after years of cheap Motorolas because I somehow locked myself into such a comically overpriced SIM only plan that taking the early upgrade option to switch to a phone plan worked out cheaper than what I was paying for just the SIM. I did no research, just ordered it because it was the handset with the most discounts on it and I figured that whatever happens it'll be better than my £100 Motorola. What am I in for?

Great photos but relatively weak video, great screen, okay battery life, okay performance, clean software (for better or worse). What'd you pay for it after discounts?

>>
>>108070580
>because I like the size
its a normal full size phone, what do you mean
>>
>>108070580

I just posted right before you. The 10 pro is a solid phone, the only noticeable con is camera quality is slightly worse than my last Samsung (s22 ultra). Not only do I love the fact it has no holepunch camera, but the bezels are really thin.

Other than that Gaming performance is better than anything released at the time and even now it runs everything (emulators included) with no sweat. I cant even do it justice with how good the performance is.

Just do your research beforehand on if you will need to pay additional duties/tarriffs.
>>
>>108070558
get the 11 pro with 24gb stop being cheap
>>108070580
its okay but the software is super buggy. besides that its a good phone. cameras are bad though like a iphone 11 tier. i like my rm 11 pro 24gb woth 1tb storage regardless though.

>>108070595
still doesnt refute the fact that the iPhone has been the editors choice on GSMarena for the 16 Pro Max and 17 Pro Max. the editor is the highest ranked employee there as well.

A 200MP smartphone picture in those lighting conditions is always going to look like AI hallucinations. Not only is the demosaicing algorithm working overtime but there's no binning at that resolution, which is what you're supposed to use the binning for in that lighting.

cope. the photo sucks, the software is the issue. thus the phone is a mid camera phone.
>>
Dumb question: I live in the US. What happens if I import a phone that was never officially released here? According to frequencycheck.com, most of the bands are compatible.
>>
Android has become so cucked over the years there's no reason to use it over iOS. I've been an Android fag since HTC HD2 days but there's so much shit these days that doesn't work if you run LineageOS that I kinda gave up. I don't want Google bloat on my phone but neither do I want some chink skin on top of AOSP. Almost everything I want is on F-Droid and I don't need Google's shit store except for 1-3 apps.
But if my choice is between an iPhone and stock Android so my bank app will work then I'd rather use an iPhone. It sucks but it's Google driving me away from AOSP so I won't reward them for that by using their shit version of Android.
